Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

Which do you all prefer. Putting this on in the am or PM? Does anyone moisturize right after??

Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

I use it at night after luna oil or ufo oil. And I apply a mositerizer over it after it has soaked into my skin. On my days off when I'm not putting any makeup on I will apply it with my morning skincare, usually once a week.

Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

Hey! Quick heads up, luna oil has retinol which makes our skin super sensitive to sunlight and more prone to damage. This is a night time routine, or at least the luna oil is. Good genes may be used AM or PM though.

RE: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

I’ve been using GG for a little over 2 weeks now and this is what I’ve found. I’m combination oily and this dries my skin out like crazy if I don’t skip a day in between. To combat that I use a hydrating oil after it and then a hydrating moisturizer. That still sometimes isn’t enough and I get chapped skin. It’s an amazing serum and has completely transformed my skin! My scars are fading and my acne is at bay and is almost gone. It’s my holy grail 100% but it does need time and Adjusting to. I use mine at night on the days I use it (about 4-5 times a week as suggested on the bottle) ppl who use this twice a day daily must have skin made of steel I can’t even imagine what I would look like lol!

You can probably work up to twice a week. I did...but sounds like you're pleased as things are. I love love love this stuff.

@Rachscar1234 Being an AHA, it is ideal to use lactic acid products at night. You should also use a good moisturizer on top and wear sunscreen during the day time because AHAs make your skin more sensitive to sun.

Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

I prefer to use lactic acids at night and always follow it with moisturizer.

Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

@Rachscar1234 I apply it after Luna every night. I do not apply a moisturizer over it. I keep my night time routine pretty simple. I double cleanse, 3-5 layers on an essence, eye cream, serum, Luna, then Good Genes. I prefer not to use it during the day since it is a slippery formula and makes me very shiny. Plus, I feel like I wreak the full benefits when I use it at night.

hey! what serum do you use? I'm looking for a good one 🙂

RE: Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

So you apply the Luna oil first! Good call. Thank you. I forget that the Luna oil helps balance the skin fist. I’ll apply at night.

Re: RE: Re: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

I do @Rachscar1234. People may say different because they want to apply in order of consistency. But...Luna is a Retinol. That works deep in the dermis, so you want that to be able to penetrate accordingly. Good Genes is a Lactic that concentrates on the epidermis. So applying it last will be fine since it focuses on the top layer of our skin anyway. This is why it’s ok to combine AHAs and BHAs. They’re working on different levels.

RE: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

Hi! I prefer to use it at night as I have sensitive skin and am afraid my skin will have a negative reaction while under the sun. Many other use it both am and pm. I would definitely moisturize after application. GGenes is a high grade lactic acid, so you want to make sure that fresh skin surfacing is hydrated😊 It is such a great product!

Re: RE: Sunday Riley. Good genes. When to apply

I agree I only use it at night.  I'm still on the search for a good daytime serum.  I have sensitive and dry skin so it's a battle against the winter elements.  But to answer your question I would only use SR Lactic Acid at night due to the heightened sun sensitivity it can cause during the day.  That said, this product has changed my life!  I love it.  Good luck!
