Sunday Riley Good Genes

I recently tried the Sunday Riley Good Genes and I experienced a permanent reaction! I applied the Good Genes as recommended on my face and blended it to my neck; immediately my neck was burning; I proceeded to wash off my neck and went to bed. The next morning, I was shocked to see that my neck was all red and dry which felt like sand paper. I moisturized and applied Aloe Vera for the burn. The burning sensation stopped within a few days but my bigger problem was the permanent reaction....my neck remained all wrinkled and extremely dry. Please be careful if considering using this product because instead of giving you beautiful skin it might age the look of your skin (neck) by 20 years!!!

Re: Sunday Riley Good Genes

@MMDomenica I’m so sorry this happened to you. How long has it been now?

This happened to me with another product, except on my face, and especially under my eyes. I had massive bags and wrinkles I’ve never had in my life and they lasted four weeks. People kept asking me if I was ill. It was that bad.

None of my quick fix products (essences, serums, moisturizers, etc.) could reverse the damage quickly. It was deep and my skin needed a lot of time to regenerate and repair itself. I had to wait one looong, self-conscious month for my skin to return to normal.

For this reason, I’m very careful with strong products of any kind that contain any type of acid or ingredient that promises quick resurfacing or brightening, or similar. No matter how highly they come recommended, patch test, patch test, patch test is my mantra! Lesson learned 😊

@MMDomenica

 Sorry to hear you had a reaction to Good Genes. I've used GG nearly two years and don't experience any type of sensation.

The directions do suggest that for beginners starting off, to leave on for x amount of time and cleanse off until you have built up a tolerance to AHA's.

I would suggest seeing a doctor about the reaction on your neck to find out the cause.
