SunScreen SPF 50

One of the things that my dermatologist has suggested I add to my holy grail is sunscreen!! I’m trying to incorporate adding an everyday Sunscreen into my skincare routine that has at least 50 SPF. I’m looking for a brand that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg but is effective and doesn’t feel sticky.  When do you apply the sunscreen into your skincare routine???

@romcom19  Clarins Dry Touch Facial Sunscreen SPF 50  is the one sunscreen that I’ve tried from Sephora and I enjoyed using it. It didn’t leave any white cast, had a light scent, and wasn’t irritating.

@romcom19  Paula's Choice RESIST Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 2 oz/ 60 mL  is great. If you have access to Trader Joe’s they have a great facial sunscreen that is spf 40 and it is really good.

Re: SunScreen SPF 50

@romcom19  Bondi Sands SPF 50 Fragrance Free Sunscreen Lotion. That’s the body version of the brand’s more expensive facial sunscreen. The body version gives you 5.07 oz for $13 USD if you buy direct from Bondi Sands. I think you can also still order this sunscreen via Target, though it’s not carried in physical Target stores (at least not in my local Targets). It’s a “chemical” sunscreen (no zinc oxide) that’s invisible on skin. I’ve used it myself on my face and body with no issues.

If you find a facial sunscreen you like by any brand, see if they also make a body version of that sunscreen. Body sunscreens usually come in bigger tubes/bottles and cost less per ounce than facial sunscreens, so this is a good general way to save money. Usually the main difference between body and facial formulas is spreadability (how easy or hard the sunscreen is to spread on your skin), and some body formulas may feel thicker than facial formulas.

And as @SportyGirly125 said, apply sunscreen as your last skincare step: after moisturizer but before any makeup (including primers). Some sunscreens can even double as moisturizers if they contain at least one good moisturizing ingredient (shea butter, squalane, dimethicone, argan oil, etc.), saving you a step in your morning skincare routine. In hot weather, I often skip AM moisturizer and just let my sunscreen pull double duty. But in cold weather, my mostly-dry combo skin always needs a separate moisturizer under any sunscreen.

This is so helpful thank you so much!!

Re: SunScreen SPF 50

@romcom19 I apply it before I go out in the morning after my moisturizer. Trader Joe’s has a sunscreen that is a dupe for Supergoop unseen and is under $10 spf 40. I use LANEIGE Hydro UV Defense Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 1.7 oz/ 50 mL
