Small bumps directly after applying moisturizer

I have gone through so many trial and errors with moisturizers! I still can not find one that settles into my dry / dehydrated, acne prone skin. Does anyone else experience the bumps forming right after applying your moisturizer? What could be the cause of this? Do you have any chemical exfoliation recommendations for combination/dehydrated, acne prone skin? I’m scared to use something like benzoyl peroxide for treatment, since my skin is already so dry. Also, a primer... ??? The tiny bumps come up after most of the primers I have used as well. Lol, I know I’m asking for a lot, but hopefully some of you will have a recommendation for at least one of these! Thanks a bunch❤️💕

Small bumps directly after applying moisturizer

The bumps could be dermatitis. I will periodically get what looks like little bumps that look almost like tiny pimples spread across my face and they go away with prescription hydrocortisone lotion. I'd suggest a visit to the dermatologist if you're unsure if what it is, they come up very quickly, or are very itchy.

RE: Small bumps directly after applying moisturizer

I think the tiny bumps you’re referring to are called closed comedones. It’s basically trapped oil and dirt under the skin and doesn’t raise up like a pimple just like bumpy texture. I had them all over my jaw line and chin area and I found a cleanser that has got rid of them and all acne in general. I use Glamglow Supercleanse cream to foam cleanser. It has acne fighting ingredients and charcoal also, the charcoal pulls all the impurities out and gets rid of those bumps, it also has hydrating ingredients so your skin doesn’t become dry . It doesn’t have benzoyl peroxide which is way too strong and drying. Also I exfoliate with an AHA/BHA cleanser from Murad at least twice a week. Also keep your skin hydrated with a good hydrating moisturizer. Hope this helps.

Re: Small bumps directly after applying moisturizer

@kgsxoxo I'm not sure what would cause your tiny bumps after applying moisturizer or primer but I had all these tiny bumps on my cheeks and across my jaw bone. Mine got so bad i went and seen my dr and tried so many prescription medications with no help. I ended up throwing out all my skin care stuff and changed to mostly Tatcha products and other clean ingredient lines. Im not sure if it was the harsh canadian winters or if I was having some sort of reaction to the products i was using but between switching to gentle products and not trying different samples on my face i have had no bumps for over a year. I really like the Tatcha water cream and the drunk elephant lala retro for creams for my skin. I use the Tatcha in the morning and the drunk elephant in the evening. My skin isn't as dry as it was (it was flaking off) its gotten so much better. I have pretty normal skin most of the year except in the winter when its so dry where i live its so hard to keep it not dry. I also started exfoliating with the Tatcha rice enzyme every day to help with cell turn over. I always thought exfoliating would make my dry skin worse but it doesn't. I used benzoyl peroxide on my skin when i had the bumps and it made my skin even more dry and it looked so bad, and it was painful because my skin was peeling. I was so embarrassed. I also use the make up forever hydrating primer to help but i think there's so many different ones you could try. I really hope you figure out what's going on!!
