Skin Cycling

New to skin cycling, anyone has done it and seen results? Any product recommendations-(specially retinoid) ?

Re: Skin Cycling

@AnotherAll I do something like this, although I just recently learned that's what it's called. I use a toner then Vitamin C serum every morning followed by SPF. At night, I use a toner and then I alternate serums before following with moisturizer.

  1. Day 1- Exfoliating serum (ingredients like AHA, BHA, PHA or another acid). I just finished the Paula's Choice CLINICAL Discoloration Repair Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL which has tranexamic acid  but I've used Sunday Riley Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment , as well as others.
  2. Day 2- Retinol serum (or retinoids, tretinoin, etc.). I'm not very knowledgeable about retinols and all the various forms/intensities but I'm currently using the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Advanced Retinol + Ferulic Texture Renewal Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  and have used Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum  in the past, as well as others.
  3. Day 3 sometimes 4- Hydrating serum (hyaluronic acid is the most common). I'm currently using the Biossance Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping & Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid + Squalane 1.69 oz / 50 mL  but have used a bunch of different hydrating serums, including The INKEY List Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL  . Honestly, most HA serums are the same to me.

My current moisturizer is the Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Deep Hydration Moisturizer 3 oz/ 100 mL. It's very important to use SPF if you're exfoliating and using retinols otherwise you're likely to get more sun damage since you're skin is "new".

I'm currently pretty happy with the condition of my skin, and when I'm consistent with my routine I don't notice any major breakouts or dry patches. However, I'm not prone to those regardless. I do notice that my skin heals well whenever I pick at my face. My skin is not normally very sensitive so I haven't had any issues with any of these products, but ease into trying any new products and incorporate one product at a time into your routine, especially the exfoliators and the retinols if you don't have previous experience using them.
