SPF Recommendations needed!

Going to the beach soon what sunscreens for face and body would you recommend that doesn't feel nasty and will actually protect my fair skin?

SPF Recommendations needed!

@jrlee3 as far as sunscreen for face I am a huge believer in Super Goop Setting Spray SPF. it works great protecting your skin. My favorite part about it is that it can be applied over makeup, so you continue reapplying it throughout the day.

Missha Essence Sun Milk is lovely for a chemical sunscreen. It's very light, no white cast and works perfect under makeup. My personal favorite though is a physical sunscreen - Dr Jart Tigergrass Cream. It doubles as a foundation for me.

For the beach try the Shiseido Wetforce. They have two-one is a combo of physical and chemical sunscreens so you're protected immediately and over time and you don't have so much of a heavy feeling since chemical soaks into the skin and only the light layer of physical stays on top. The other is purely physical so if you're sensitive to chemical you have an option. The Wetforce is best because it has a component that actually makes it stick to the skin BETTER when it's wet! Hope this helps. 🦄

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

Shiseido urban environment oil, it acts like a nice mattifying primer too

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

I'm obsessed with Goodal's Mild Protect Sun Essence (SPF 50). It feels more like a luxurious serum than sunscreen, and it even smells nice too.

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

Amazon: Biore Sarasara UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ 50g

So lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast. Feels like a light moisturizer. The best sunscreen I've tried.

@mishybish yes yes yes! I've been obsessed with this sunscreen ever since I first tried it. I wear it every day now and SWEAR by it.

@vront @mishybish I've been really curious about trying this because of all of the rave reviews! there are so many different options when buying on amazon though. how did you decide? is this suitable for sensitive skin and long sun exposure? is it waterproof/sweatproof?

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

I went with the original one that everyone was raving about which is the one in the turquoise squeeze tube called "Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+" on Amazon. But I've actually switched to the Dr. Jart Cicapair Color Correcting Treatment Cream which has SPF 30 in it and helps with my redness, I also feel like it helps my acne scars heal faster. Whether that's the SPF or the Centella extract in it, I'm not sure but it's now my go-to for SPF. Also if your skin is super dry, I might not recommend the Biore, as I felt that since it has alcohol as one of its main ingredients, it wasn't super moisturizing. The Dr. Jart Treatment is definitely on the heavier side, and if you use too much it can get greasy but it never feels drying. Hope this helps 🙂

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

I would recommend the Neogen Day Light Protection (SPF 50) or the Glossier Invisible Shield (SPF 30)! These both go on super smoothly and don't leave casts behind! They also sit nice underneath makeup and feel more like moisturizers than sunscreens. 🙂

You can find the Neogen one on the Sephora website but Glossier is only sold on their own website!

Re: SPF Recommendations needed!

For face, I always go with physical/mineral sunscreens i.e. zinc oxide & titanium dioxide. They don't irritate the skin like chemical ones and are a physical barrier.

Brands I am currently using are color science and tarte
