Recommendation for lips?

What are some good products to hydrate and maintain hydration in lips?

RE: Recommendation for lips?

Bite beauty agave mask!! Lasts forever and you will never use anything else. I promise.

RE: Recommendation for lips?

Sugar lips the brown or white one are so conditioning they even have an exfoliate sugar scrub then the Chapstick.

RE: Recommendation for lips?

A small bottle of vitamin E from the pharmacy. I use it every night before bed & my lips are no longer dry & cracked like they used to

RE: Recommendation for lips?

Fresh sugar lip balms !

RE: Recommendation for lips?

I would stay away from Vaseline and products like it because they just coat the lips to discourage loss of natural hydration, they techinically don't have any ingredients that have small enough particles to go into the skin and provide moisture. I would try sticking to a "potted" lip balm because it will still have a coating "wax" type of ingredient but will be higher in oil (good oil) content. Anything in stick form is going to just naturally have less creamy/hydrating properties than a potted product which relies on the container to keep shape, not a waxy stick if that makes sense 🙃 ... With that said, I recently tried the Fresh Sugar Lip Caramel and omg it's soooo smooth and moisturizing. Lots of great oils in there as well. Just watch out for ingredient lists because there are also a lot of squeeze tube products with lots of petroleum jelly which is totally fine, but like Vaseline it is good for coating so you don't lose hydration, it's not good for replenishing.

I second that. Petroleum jelly is great for protection or locking in moisture that is already there. It does NOT moisturize.

Vaseline or medicated blistex. I know they aren't Sephora products, but sometimes expensive doesn't always mean the best. I have a massive tub of Vaseline I put on my lips every night before I go to sleep and I swear by it. When I was on acne medication that dried my lips out so much they would peel and bleed, I used Vaseline and then when I was out and about I used blistex. Keep in mind that certain lip balms moisturize for a small Period of time, and then dry your lips out again so they can make you keep buying the product. Even if you don't take my advice on the other products just for sure STAY AWAY FROM EOS. Those little balls are the worst things ever and you could be the next person signing the class action lawsuit against them for the burns they cause.

I have very dry skin / eczema. Burt's Bees Ultra conditioning lip balm works really well for me. sometimes instead of lipstick i'll use the Sephora tinted lip oil (they seem to be learing out their stock of this... not sure what the replacement will be but im sure there are many similar products).

Rosebud Perfume Co.'s Strawberry Lip Balm is magical & so is Link's Perfectly Peculiar Peanut butter lip balm by Beard & Lady, which you can find on Amazon or Beard & Lady's website. They're the only lip balms I use. I swear by them. Holy grail products for sure.
