ROSACEA

Over the past few months my skin has slowly become almost unmanageable. I take really good care of my skin, so when it was breaking out & red all of the time i really started to freak out. I finally went to the doctor and found out that i have rosacea. I finally have it semi under control, but i am on the search for MAKEUP that is going to help my skin. I have been using makeup forever hd liquid foundation & the powder for years and i am hesitant to give it up because i love how much coverage it gives me. However, i don’t feel that it is doing my skin any favors and it might sort of trigger the burning and redness to an extent. Does anyone have any suggestions for full coverage foundation and powder? Or even a cream that will even out my skin tone & cover well? I’ve looked at CC creams and tinted moisturizers, but i have no idea which would be best for this. We don’t have a full size Sephora where I live, so i would go into a store but it’s so far away. Thanks in advance 😊

Re: ROSACEA

I feel your pain and have dealt with Rosacea since my early 20s. Dr Jart has a amazing skincare line and the tigergrass line is exactly what my skin needed. I use the camo drops to even out redness before I apply makeup. It's also nice by itself on no makeup days!! Highly recommend.

RE: ROSACEA

Hi there! My skin has been terrible these past months- I know it’s partly due to the really cold winter we’ve had this year & the changes in cleansers & moisturizers I’ve tried to help my rosacea. (I’ve had rosacea for about 10 years). Recently, after being tired of buying new products & being unlucky- I decided to take note of all possible cosmetic & natural products that would irritate & trigger my rosacea & found 2 compagnies that seem to target to very sensitive skin types & be successful: First Aid Beauty & Drunk Elephant. Today i bought 3 products from FAB: oatmeal mask, face moisturizer & day moisturizer w spf . I tried the mask & it was great & tried the moisturizer & was not irritated so I think I’ve got a keeper! Good luck!

@laurenalyssa
Not sure if you're still on the hunt. Agreeing with anyone suggesting IT Cosmetics.
The woman who started the company has rosacea (or so I had heard.) Which to me, explains why so many products are geared towards sensitivity and redness. I'd definitely give them a shot.

I manage mine more through skincare and try to find makeup that doesn't contain certain ingredients that would irritate the skin. I also don't wear foundation every day and if I do, it's usually a tinted moisturizer or light foundation.

Hope you are on your way to finding what works best for you~

RE: ROSACEA

I also have rosacea and sensitive skin, and found both Cover FX foundation and IT Cosmetics CC cream to be great. The ITC CC cream still has good coverage. I’m with you in the frustration with finding products that don’t aggravate my skin!

Re: ROSACEA

It's so hard to know where to start - I have rosacea too and it's still a struggle to figure out what does and doesn't work. The MUFE might be working for you as it could be skincare that's making your skin red. Most of my redness reactions come from skincare especially cleansers and moisturizers. If you like the MUFE, you could try paring down your skincare and cosmetic routine to the items that you know work for you. Then, you can add in one item as a time. I love trying new items but when you can only test one thing at a time, it's can be quite tiresome and long.

As for your foundation issue, you could try a powder foundation with a full-coverage concealer for the really red areas. I try to avoid dimethicone as it tends to cause little breakouts around my nasal folds. The MUFE HD foundation aggravates my skin which is sad because I love the coverage and finish.

Re: ROSACEA

Jane Iredale is designed for rosacea and acne prone skin -- I like the glow mineral makeup but the powder foundation is great too. Look em up ! also IT cosmetics I have heard is good as is bare minerals

RE: ROSACEA

I’ve been told IT Cosmetics and Cover FX are both good makeup brands for those of us with rosacea!

Re: ROSACEA

Hey there @laurenalyssa. CC creams and tinted moisturizers won’t give you the full coverage you’re looking for. There is a brand — Dermablend — that specializes in covering scars and discoloration, but it might be overkill for you. It may be worth looking at though. Sephora used to carry it, but a quick look through their brands list didn’t show it. It looks like Ulta does. Is there one of those closer to you? I have a mild case of rosacea myself and I tend to use lighter foundations but I don’t try to cover the redness fully.

RE: Re: ROSACEA

Yes! We do have an Ulta, I’ll have to check that out. Thank you!! And it’s more of the bumps that i am conferenced with covering over the redness, although the redness is quite painful 😣

Re: RE: Re: ROSACEA

I don't have the bumps, just the pink cheeks. Has your doctor given you any idea what ingredients might bother it @laurenalyssa?

RE: Re: RE: Re: ROSACEA

No, I’ve been waiting for my appointment since january ☹️☹️ it’s in 2 weeks though so I’m hoping he can help me figure it out then. I’ve been using the IT cosmetics bye bye redness cream for about a week now (without any makeup on top) and it’s helped quite a bit, but it’s not really much coverage

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: ROSACEA

I tried that too @laurenalyssa  But it was way too dark for me. You know, I’ve been trying out a sample of the Tatcha Primer everyone’s been raving about and I have to say it has helped to cut down a bit of my redness. It has also evened out my skin for better makeup application. Maybe once the dust settles on all this you might give it a try?

Good luck at your derm appt!

ROSACEA

My Birthday was Nivember 5th and I was sent a card in the mail but was unable to pick up my gift due to 6 weeks of the flu. It was the worse flu I have ever had. I could really use a beauty pick-me-up at this point. Is it too late to get my products?
