Products from The Ordinary

Hey all! I’m really struggling on getting a solid routine to keep acne away and give me an overall even tone to my face. I’m very interested in the brand The Ordinary, I’ve heard good things about the AHA + BHA and also about the niancimide +zinc. I can’t really tell a big difference in the two and they’re benefits? If someone could point me in the right direction and recommend one over the other I’d be so grateful!!

I would also highly recommend the Hyaluronic acid, Lactic acid (as a gentler, daily chemical peel option), and Buffet. All part of my normal routine!

RE: Products from The Ordinary

I've personally been using the Niacidamine + Zinc for years now. It helps clear zits, and leftover blemishes. I live in Canada, so I haven't been able to access the Ordinary's AHA/BHA formula. That being said - I've used quite a few other companies products. My opinion on the differences are; The Ordinary Niacidamine + Zinc - you can use as a daily part of your routine, both AM & PM (I find this beneficial) - helps stop zits from formulating into larger ones, stops them in their tracks - diminishes the look, size & redness of zits - reduces scarring from previous zits - works slowly, but well, as you use daily, but you can see a difference from the first day you apply when a new zit pops up, to the second day (that new zit is smaller) vs not using it - that zit would have grown AHA/BHA containing solutions/treatments in general - not to be used daily, more 2/3 times weekly - definitely also helps stop zits in their tracks, as all listed above, just in a more intensive treatment - overall "peels" your skin, AHA/BHA is what is used in a lot of chemical exfoliants, so is taking dead skin off of your face - can be irritating to the skin depending on your sensitivity, a lot of these products warn "tingling" or "warmth" or sometimes "redness" with use as they're stronger My opinion is to use both, they work wonders together. Niacidamide + Zinc daily (I use AM + PM) to help reduce zits & scarring consistently. Then depending on your skin, use whichever AHA/BHA treatment as needed 1-3 times weekly, for a more intensive treatment. The AHA/BHA increasing the helpfulness of what you've been doing daily with Niacidamine + Zinc solution for your zits, while also giving your whole face a much needed refresh - promoting a more "glowly" face. Followed by a moisturizer (serums etc. Before if you're including those)

Re: RE: Products from The Ordinary

i had the aha+bha peeling solution suggested for my skincare concern, and i live in Canada as well, due to it not being available on Sephora Canada and in Canada, someone helped me out on Sephora Community and told me I could find it on Global Ulta, which i ordered it off of but still haven't received it yet.

🙂 can't wait to get it delivered!

This didn't post in the way I wanted to with lists & bullets. And I see that it's hard to read. If you have more questions - please ask & feel free to message me!

Re: Products from The Ordinary

Hi! I have using the niacinamide and zinc formula for about 8 months now. I LOVE it. It is a product I can count on. I use it twice a day. When I first started using it I had pretty bad acne on my forehead and cheeks. They were those small little acne spots... I hated them. I then tried the niacinamide and zinc and it cleared my face in about two weeks. Since then I have also incorporated the peeling solution and glycolic acid. I don't recommend the peeling solution if you have sensitive skin. I use the peeling solution about 1-2 times a week. and the glycolic acid 2-3 times a week. Make sure you are using these two products at night, and use sunscreen the next morning. I now only get a FEW acne spots when it is that time of the month or if I've been eating like crap. I hope this has been helpful, and I highly recommend you trying the niacinamide!
