Product

Does anyone a good product that can lighten up dark spots/ hyperpigmentation on a dry skin? A good budget friendly product

Re: Product

@Romenaaa  Look for products that contain vitamin A (retinoic acid or one of its derivatives like retinol or retinaldehyde), kojic acid, alpha arbutin, or azelaic acid. Bonus points if it also contains a supporting brightening ingredient like licorice root, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), or niacinamide. Also, don't expect overnight miracles from any of those ingredients: results will take several weeks to see.

A few products to consider, without knowing what your exact budget is:

  • Hyper Skin Mini Brightening Dark Spot Vitamin C Serum 0.5 oz/ 15 mL - contains kojic acid, alpha arbutin, and a vitamin C derivative. A good multi-ingredient option. I currently use this in the morning.
  • Specific Beauty Advanced Dark Spot Corrector pads - contains arbutin, kojic acid, licorice root, and ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C); another good multi-ingredient product. I've used this before and would definitely buy again for travel purposes. Available at Target and Ulta.
  • Topicals Faded Serum for Dark Spots & Discoloration 1.7 oz/ 50 mL - contains alpha arbutin, kojic acid, azelaic acid, licorice root, plus phytic acid and tranexamic acid for additional hyperpigmentation help. I haven't tried it yet.
  • Paula's Choice 10% Azelaic Acid Booster for Redness Relief 1/30 - contains azelaic acid and licorice root, plus0.5% salicylic acid (BHA). It's especially good for dark marks left by acne. I alternate it with another azelaic acid product.
  • The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% Cream for Redness and Blemish-Prone Skin - a less expensive option for azelaic acid. Having used it before, I can say you might not like it if you hate silicone-feeling products.
  • The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + Hyaluronic Acid for Hyperpigmentation - a good inexpensive way to add alpha arbutin to your routine. I've used it myself.
  • The INKEY List Alpha Arbutin Brightening Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL - another alpha arbutin option. I preferred The Ordinary's liquid texture to The Inkey List's cream texture, but your preference may vary.
  • The INKEY List Mandelic Acid Treatment 0.5 oz/ 15 mL - contains retinol plus mandelic acid, a gentle AHA that exfoliates dead skin cells to reveal newer skin. I've never tried this one.

The Inkey List also has a 10% Azelaic Acid Serum that's not available at Sephora; you can get it direct from the brand.

Re: Product

@Romenaaa you can check out Sweet Chef vitamin c line sold at Target or the Ordinary has products for dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
