Problems with Philosophy Purity?

Hey there!

I just started to use the Purity by Philosophy a couple days ago and noticed that it's making my skin feel very bumpy. My skin feels bumpy (not acne like just almost as if all of my pores have been extremely raised) as soon as I am done washing it and doesn't go down.  Has anyone else had this problem? I have normal skin and somewhat sensitive. I was using the Excuviance face wash before I started using this. What other products would you suggest using instead?!

Thanks!

Problems with Philosophy Purity?

@Jilliangrace3 I've never had this problem with the product and it's a staple in my skincare routine. I do have sensitive/Dry skin. However, with that being said, everyones skin is very different. I'd discontinue using the cleanser if that's what it has caused. another great cleanser is the Fresh Soy Cleanser. worth giving it a try! best of luck!

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

Agree with this totally. I love Purity and it's my go-to, but everyone reacts differently to different products. The Fresh Soy Cleanser and the First Aid Beauty Facial Cleanser are both great alternatives! I hope you find something that works out better for you, @Jilliangrace3!

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

Thank you so much! I actually had a sample of the FAB so going to give that a try!

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

Thank you!! That was the other cleanser that was suggested to me to use. I will have to try it out!

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

@Jilliangrace3 Beautypedia gives it 1/5 stars.  Here's the review:

Spoiler
This cleanser is overloaded with irritating ingredients. The fact that it is listed as “Best of Sephora” merely means that lots of Sephora customers are using a cleanser that is hurting their skin. Fragrant oils are abundant in this cleanser, and all of them contain volatile components that are irritating to skin. Philosophy also included black pepper extract, just in case the fragrant oils weren’t irritating enough. Those of you who use this cleanser may not see the irritation it causes because most of the irritation is taking place under the skin, where collagen is being damaged and free-radical damage is being generated, but it is happening nonetheless. For the health of your skin and your beauty budget, please consider switching to a truly gentle water-soluble cleanser.

I highly rec FAB Pure Skin Face Cleanser instead 🙂

@greeneyedgirl107@Jilliangrace3@Meg557 Sorry I tagged everyone, I dont know who asked the original question. I would take Beautypedia with a grain of salt. The site is owned and operated by the owners of Paulas Choice, how could it NOT be biased when they themselves have a skincare line. Great marketing.

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

@GG84 I know some people don't like beautypedia 🙂  All I can say is that I've found their information to be strong.  I agree that the PC products are virtually all ranked 5 stars by the site which may be interpreted as a red flag.  However, I've found many products recommended by the site that are competitors of PC which are remarkable, including FAB, CeraVe, Aveeno.

Re: Problems with Philosophy Purity?

Thank you for the info! Will have to try that one out and see.
