Nighttime serum

Hi guys! What kind of serum do you use for night time? I am 26, normal skin. In the morning I use vit C serum but I’m not sure what is a good serum for night time. I can’t use retinol because of breastfeeding. Waiting for your suggestions! Thanks 🙂

Nighttime serum

I am currently breastfeeding as well, so I am super careful about what I use on my skin. I use Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Transformation Gel with OH Sheer Transformation Perfecting Moisturizer on top. I also use the OH Glow2OH Dark Spot toner after cleansing. I previously used Drunk Elephant and was not a fan, most of their products are breastfeeding/pregnancy safe though, with the exception of their products containing Retinol.

Re: Nighttime serum

Hi @Musea ! What results do you want for your skin? When choosing a serum for any time of day, I always start there. Depending on your skincare goals/needs, you might not need a night serum. You could just wash, maybe tone, moisurize, and call it a night. 🙂 If you like sheet masks, they could be your PM serum step.

My skincare goals include hydration/moisturization, clear pores, and evening out my skin tones. So I alternate or layer a few serums at night: retinol. AHA/BHA exfoliants, and THE ORDINARY - Buffet. I like Buffet because it contains hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and several peptides that help keep my skin hydrated and plump. And it plays nice with the rest of my PM routine.

Re: Nighttime serum

Right now I only want to keep my skin smooth and glowing and in good condition and of course to prevent wrinkles and fine lines. I am starting to get some wrinkles between my eyebrows which bothers me so much and I think retinol is best for that but it'll have to wait 🙂 Also I'm fairly new to skincare (I always used cleanser and moisturizer but just recently started on other products like vit C, toner, eye cream) so I established a little routine but I haven't figured it out with the serums just yet 😄 My night time toner is the Ole Henriksen one and it contains AHA and BHA and I'm not sure what to combine it with

Re: Nighttime serum

Honestly @Musea if you already have an AHA/BHA toner and you're good with the hydration/moisture your nightly moisturizer provides I'm with @WinglessOne that you probably don't need a serum.  I'm also 26 and I personally alternate between a retinol and the honeymoon glow (an AHA/BHA serum) from Farmacy but any other here or there concerns I leave to masking.

That all being said, I do have the DE B-Hydra serum and I am/have been shocked how much difference a product adding hydration vs just an emollient/oil layer moisturizer to my skin has helped its appearance. I mostly put it around my nose and on my forehead- the spots my combo skin generally gets super oily- and it has decreased the redness around my nose and helped with the oiliness of my skin and it just generally looks brighter and healthier. A little hydrating plump might also help with the appearance of small wrinkles. I don't think you need to go out and spend $50 since THE ORDINARY -  will do essentially the same thing for like $8. I would start by giving that a shot and if it's not for you it's less risky from a money perspective
