New Toner

Hi I am looking for recommendations for a new toner. I was using the mild one from Clinique but then went and changed it and I find the new version very drying. I am 32 and I have dry but combination skin and am prone to cystic acne. I would love any recommendations.

Thayer's witch hazel toner has done wonders for my skin, it's like $12 on Amazon

I'm prone to cystic acne too. I finally figured out what works for me: step 1. inexpensive toner. this isn't tricky, you only need a toner that will bring your pH to optimal levels. i'm using the $6.99 Neutrogena Alcohol-free toner. step 2. add-on: Paula's choice 2% BHA. this has been one of the most effective steps for me in reducing acne. step 3 (optional): IF you feel dry, add in a hydrating spray. Mario Badescu makes a great one for $7. Tatcha's is incredible for hydration, but whew, it's a pretty penny. (most people won't need this, I do because I'm painfully dry but prone to hormonal, cystic acne. how annoying, right?) Pixi glow tonic or the Ordinary 7% Glycolic Toner are useful for clearing up acne scars, but Drunk Elephant's TLC framboos is, imo, so much better. this is all optional as well, and again - these are for scars. you may or may not need this (I did, and I'm almost to the point of no longer needing it!)

Definitely agree with separating out your toner from your acne treatment. I used to use the Clinique toner forever ago and it really was harsh stuff. I thought it was great at the time, but it was more of an astringent than a toner - not good at all for my poor skin. My acne product is also the Paula's Choice 2% BHA, love it. Does a great job.

RE: New Toner

Pixi glow tonic is the best toner ever doesn't irritate your skin and has glycolic acid that gently exfoliates.

RE: New Toner

I had the same situation, I’ve since used this for the last year and it works great!

Re: New Toner

My favorite toner is LANCÔME Tonique Radiance Clarifying Refining Toner.

I have EXTREME combination skin. Dry skin like leather and like you, prone to cystic acne.  I have been using this for 5 years and I haven't had to go for shots in my face for years.

Spoiler

You could take away every other skincare product I use - but this is my PLEASE don't ever take this away product.
