Need some skincare recommendations ๐Ÿ˜Š

Hey everyone! I am a 28 year old female with combination acne prone skin. Iโ€™m usually on the more oily side except in the winter. I am looking for a good skin care routine to help balance out the oily skin and help my acne. I also have a lot of fine lines and dark circles under my eyes. What suggestions do you all have? Thanks!

You will want a gentle face cleanser (one that cleared my acne up significantly is the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, Purity is also great), and hydrating products. I think it's a great idea to incorporate a face oil at least at night. Maracuja Oil from tarte has helped even my skin tone, brighten my scars, and helped with lines for me. A different oil that people rave about for acne is Rosehip oil but I haven't used it much yet. You could also incorporate an essence and hydrating toner into your routine to help you stay hydrated and balanced. These things really helped me out, I hope you find the perfect routine for your skin!

@JessKate89 I would recommend the Sunday Riley Space Line. Itโ€™s all geared towards oily, acne prone skin. Ive seen it in action and the results it delivers when I gifted it to my little sister. As far as eye cream, I use SR Auto Correct, Ole Henriksen Banana Eye And Shiseido Benefiance. I know itโ€™s a lot, but I have yet to find the absolute perfect eye cream. The banana eye is amazing for daytime. It has a yellow tint that instantly brightens and preps for concealer. I use Auto Correct at night, let it sink in for 15 minutes then add Benefiance on top....cause Iโ€™m crazy and more is more. Lol But Sunday Riley is definitely something you should read in to!!!

Re: RE: Need some skincare recommendations ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have heard awesome things about the space collection from Sunday Riley! Thank you for the eye cream recommendations! I could really use some good stuff for my eyes!

I have the same skin type as you! Here is my daily routine: AM -aveeno clear complexion cream cleanser - may coop raw sauce toner (this is a Korean product. I purchase mine off of peachandlily.com) - the ordinary natural moisturizing factors PM Biore baking soda acne scrub. - may coop raw sauce - the ordinary rosehip seed oil - the ordinary vitamin c silicone cream - the ordinary natural moisturizing factors A couple times a week I have also been using the lancer radiance awakening mask. I use it instead of moisturizer and I awkward wake up with velvety skin, even skin tone, and improved complexion. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for all the great recommendations! I will check all that stuff out! Iโ€™m always up for trying new things especially if it will help my skin get better than what it is now.

I have the same skin type as you and I recently switched to more Korean skincare products which has been more gentle on my face. I havenโ€™t tried a lot of options but I did learn that often times our skin produces more oil to compensate for dry skin. I am doing more sheet masks and I am better at using moisturizer to keep it all balanced. Loving TonyMoly sheet masks and Iโ€™ve been using BeautyCounter oils , vitamin c will help brighten your skin up

Re: RE: Need some skincare recommendations ๐Ÿ˜Š

I have definitely wanted to try more Korean skin care. It seems awesome and I love a good sheet mask! Iโ€™ll have to pick up some tony moly and some vitamin C. Thanks for the recommendations!

Hey! I have very similar skin. I do use Herbivoreโ€™s Lapis Oil and the Blue Tansy Mask. So excellent advice @sunshine202. I have to add that since I have combo/acne prone skin, the lapis oil is great for daytime (but wear sunscreen because it contains retinoids)! At night it can cause breakouts especially if you sleep on one side of your face a lot. So at night Iโ€™ve been using Kate Somervilleโ€™s Exfolikate moisturizer and itโ€™s been lovely. Sunday Rileyโ€™s Good Geneโ€™s is an incredible night treatment as well (although less moisturizing) itโ€™s just very expensive. Also be sure to use a humidifier, itโ€™s excellent for anyoneโ€™s skin during winter, but especially combo because we need the overnight moisture in the air. Change your pillowcase nightly as dead skin and hair oils get trapped on your pillowcase. Also, if you donโ€™t wash your hair every day be sure to use a dry shampoo on your hair before bed and keep it out of your face. Because your skin is dryer in the wintertime it will be much easier for oils and bacteria to find a way to penetrate and congestion your skin. If you do get a pesky Whitehead try using Peace Outโ€™s Acne dots. I have tried every acne clearing dot on the market and these actually work. Just be sure to place it on clean, dry skin and avoid other product application nearby. Overnight it literally absorbs your Whitehead and when you take the dot off in the morning you will see the icky fluids trapped in the layers of the dot and your skin wonโ€™t be angry or damaged. Yay!

Thank you so much for all of the great recommendations! I am going to try out all of the stuff you said to do! Iโ€™ve been meaning to get a humidifier so I am picking one up soon and I will start changing my pillow case more often for sure! Thank you again! You had some really great suggestions!

Re: Need some skincare recommendations ๐Ÿ˜Š

Often, oily skin is because skin is actually dry so it produces more oil. I'd go into Sephora and get 3 moisturizer samples (just go in the store and tell them you want samples).

RE: Re: Need some skincare recommendations ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thatโ€™s what I was thinking. Iโ€™m probably not drinking enough water. I will do that for sure! I love trying the samples. I usually know the next day if something itโ€™s going to mess with my skin. So samples work well for me.

herbivore lapis and blue Tansy is all you need. I also used PTR firmx gel enzyme peel prior to starting the herbivore routine.
