Need skin help desperately

Hey everyone! I need some help big time with skin care. My skin is incredibly dry and super sensitive, winter is the worst for me as my skin will crack and peel and it takes days to recover from it, even using special moisture lock gloves! with the cold weather approaching I'm dreading the fall out with my skin, does anybody have any recommendations for a good hand and body moisturizer? Thanks!!!!

RE: Need skin help desperately

Shea butter is a great moisturizer for hand and body ! Also butters that have coconut oil.

Hello my skin twin. I agree with the previous suggestions...

Hello my skin twin. I agree with the previous suggestions, and I'm going to try to help out a bit with what works for me. 1. Drink lots of water 100%. 2. Exfoliate - but do not scrub. Ever. A mild chemical exfoliant with extra hydration will be your best friend for your body. I use a 12% lactic acid cream (dermlactin, lachydrin, etc). It is going to sting like a s.o.b. the first couple times and it smells terrible, so you're going to wear it night. it's formulation is basically an exfoliant, moisturizer and occlusive barrier all in one so it's kind of sticky. if it didn't work so well, I wouldn't recommend it, but it does. Now to wash it off, you can GENTLY use a bath puff 3. on that bath puff, you want to use soap free, hydrating cleansers only. Cetaphil restoraderm is quite great, bioderma has Atoderm (which I don't like) but they also just released a new pink one for the face, which is actually a great body wash (and I don't like it on the face). 4. During the day, moisturel will work well in the body, but on your hands you're going to need an occlusive product to seal your skin barrier. I use vaseline at night on my hands as an occlusive (over the lactic acid if it's really bad) but during the day I haven't found one I like. (also works for feet!) Always wear gloves outside 5. The face: avoid anything bubbly. If it foams, it's not for you. La Roche posay has Toleraine, which I use and Bioderma micellar water with the Pink cap was created by some genius who should win a Nobel prize or something and is freaking fabulous. I use it with just my hands most of the time, like a regular cleanser, but you can very soft remover pads. 6. I use plain, basic moisturizer on my face (called moisturel), a thick, non-drying sunscreen (kinda gloopy) and people say I'm nuts, but I always, always wear foundation to seal everything up and occlude my facial skin from the elements. It works, so embrace the haters. 7. once a week try ole henrikson night treatment (blue bottle - glycolic acid) to exfoliate. if you feel you need more exfoliation, you can use a cloth to very gently remove Toleraine. and I mean GENTLY. like just barely touching it. 8. finally, and again people say I'm nuts, but I avoid glycerin and hyaluronic acid. while both are great in the right environment, if the environment is too dry, they will pull the moisture from your skin instead of the air. so again, just take the hate and carry on. HTH.

Thank you!! I will definitely follow this!

Re: Need skin help desperately

1 - Drink. Lots. of. Water.

2 - Laneiege Sleeping Mask - use this over or under a moisturizer (I use under) and there is definitely moisture results!

3 - exfoliate!! You need to get the dead skin off! But be gentle to yourself, since it sounds bad.I suggest Origins Modern Friction

4 - hydrating mask - try Erborian Bamboo  Waterlock - it can also be left on over night like Laneiege

5 - unrefined / raw shea butter (on amazon), use this with the moisture locking gloves and with socks! I swear by shea butter!

Thanks so much! I will give the mask a try, hoping it helps, hasn't even snowed yet and my skin is already cracking.
