Morning vs Night Routine

What should be the difference in what products you are using in your morning and night routines?

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

My morning and night skin differ completely, personally!

In the AM:

- SPF is vital

- many people only wash their face with water; I'm one of them as I find that my skin becomes excessively parched if I do a full cleanse

- I am very careful about which actives I use, if any-- I generally try to avoid all actives in the AM aside from Vitamin C, which is photoprotective to an extent - I love the DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum

In the PM:

- I focus a lot more on hydration and the richer products come out, e.g. thicker moisturizers and/or overnight masks that I can't use during the daytime. I love overnight leave-on masks such as GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Maskor GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask Setbecause I find them to be so much lower maintenance than rinse-off masks

- lip care! I love slapping a lip mask on like the  LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Berry or BITE BEAUTY - Agave Lip Mask

- as mentioned above I also only use actives containing AHAs or retinoids at night, as those do cause photosensitivity; I also use my acne prescriptions at this time

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

As well as using a heavier moisturizer at night I always spend some time on my teeth then apply a good lip treatment, either La Mers lip Balm, or LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask Intense Hydration with Vitamin C Berry

@ashgiardier mornings I use spf and vitamin c serum and at night I use a heavier night cream and an overnight mask

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

@ashgiardier  I use vitamin C and spf in the morning and in the evening I use AHA serum and retinol. I also only cleanse my face in the evening, I just rinse in the morning.

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

@ashgiardier, these routines of @faeriegirl are mine as well - down to only rinsing my face in the mornings!

I also use a lip mask most evenings and sheet or wash-off face masks some evenings.

RE: Morning vs Night Routine

Also lots of people use Vitamin C in the a.m. and a retinol or prescription Rentin-A in the P.M. Depends on age, and your individual skin needs mostly. A SPF in the morning is a must for everyone. 👍

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

Morning routine products definitely need an SPF, night time routines are usually more moisturizing and calming

Re: Morning vs Night Routine

yes night creams are more intense, for example I have one by dermae called hydrating night cream - they also make a day cream, so usually that's how you can tell which is for night or day. lol.  also a good time for a 'sleeping mask', as those do the same thing.
