Milia

Hey everyone,

I am trying to read up on what to do with my milia, and there are so many contradicting statements, and just too much information. I have struggled with milia since I was a child, and just need a step by step face regimen to help me with them. I need a morning, and a night regimen. They are the most prominent on my upper cheeks, and I would like a simple list of products, and steps that people have found useful. Thank you!

RE: Milia

Hi Alexandra! I too suffer from Milia. I didn't know what it was until a few years back I asked during a facial at Aveda. They suggested that whatever eye cream (or creams) I was using may be to rich for under the eye. I think I was using a Neutrogena wrinkle cream at the time, so I stopped using it and my Milia went away. They also suggested a gentle liquid exfoliate for that area too. Hope that helps!

Re: Milia

Hi @AlexandraMc14. I notice I tend to get milia when I use a product that's too rich for my skin. I have dry skin and I'm older, too, so it's tough to find that line between moisturizing and too much. I haven't noticed a particular ingredient that triggers it for me, I just find out by trial and error. Brands that I've had good luck with are Caudalie, Belif, Korres and Farmacy. Definitely try to test products out before you invest and stop using them immediately if you see the milia starting. Good luck!

Re: Milia

Witch hazel is a big staple in my beauty routine. I noticed a difference with my milia. Use this as an all over toner day and night. Make sure you get alcohol free. Using retin-a and a light exfoliant helped get rid of this as well! I would also recommend massaging your face with oil once a month. It will help break down the keratin that builds up to cause milia. I hope this helps!

Re: Milia

Hi, which oil did you use?

Re: Milia

It doesnโ€™t matter. Any facial oil really works. Iโ€™ve used both the UFO oil from Sunday Riley and the Blue Tansy Lapis oil from Herbivore. Also I started using the good genes lactic acid treatment from Sunday Riley and some of my milia surfaced and eventually went away.

Re: Milia

Hi Alexandra!

What is your current skin care regimen like? What type of skin do you have, and do you have any other specific skin concerns?
