I'm looking for a good moisturizer/acne treatment for my husband. He has very sensitive skin, and is acne prone. Since his skin is oily we have been using Alba Acnedote but it dries his skin out so much and causes redness. Suggestions please? XOXO

@hannahizetta sensitivities are different for everyone, what is he sensitive to? Does he use moisturizer? If not, start. Will help keeping the skin balanced and provides a barrier from the environment.

No wonder he's oily, and red that cleanser strips the skin of natural oils. Also contains irritating ingredients: peppermint, witch hazel, salicylic acid, citrus etc.

Dehydrated skin can produce more oil to rebalance.

I like La Roche posay hydrating cleanser and double repair moisturizer for my sensitive, oily combo skin.

Yes, he has several different moisturizers, but he's never found one worth sticking to, he says they all make his acne worse. We live in the north and the air is very dry, so moisturizer is an absolute MUST for both of us.

I find it to be a good anti-aging product, but I know another BICer likes it for the moisture.  It's very gentle and lightweight.  I also rec CeraVe PM as a great moisturizer!  🙂

@hannahizetta the acne could be a sign of irritation instead of true acne, since that cleanser isn't doing much good.

I'm in the desert (so dehydrated as well), the double repair hasn't caused problems/dryness, also using prescription topicals that can be drying. Also facial oil can help, like Acure seriously soothing.
