Melasma and hyperpigmentation

Hey everyone,

I am looking for recommendations for products that treat melasma and hyperpigmentation. Mine is pretty minor but still bugs me so I'm looking for a solution. Any tips and suggestions are welcome!

RE: Melasma and hyperpigmentation

No, melasma and hyperpigmentation are NOT the same thing. Melasma is much harder to get rid of. I would either look for products specifically for melasma or see a dermatologist

Re: Melasma and hyperpigmentation

I would try using vitamin c serums. Vitamin c helps reduce existing pigmentation on the skin and inhibits new melanin from showing up.

The Ordinary has several vitamin c products. And the price is good for trying it out. I prefer more formulated products like the DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma™ Vitamin C Day Serum. It is very good but expensive and it expires in 2-3 months (it noticeably degrades imo as the color changes). I've heard good things about Sunday Riley C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum 1 oz/ 30 mL and Murad Vitamin C products (there's a couple different products in the line).
