Marula Oil - DE Vs. The Ordinary?

I have been using Marula oil from DE but have found out about 'The Ordinary' brand recently. Are these similar or is there any difference? Anyone with firsthand experience with both would be a great help.

Interesting that this thread re-surfaced today !!  I have recently switched to Indie Lee Squalane oil and loving it a lot more than Marula. It give me baby skin, helps with any redness, irritation and peeling, any overdose of retinol or acid. I use Squalane every night for sure and sometimes morning also.

i still have DE Marula as well as TO Marula but I don’t use them that often. 

This thread reminded me that I should probably test out ‘The Ordinary’ Squalane as well 🤔

@naturalooks15  I've been wanting to try it but wasn't sure if I should get it yet bc it sounded like HA, and I have a bunch of those tarte serums from that superfood set a while back...or is it more like an oil?  like if I have both, would I use them together or do they both do the same thing?

@treestar86  I would say Squalane oil is definitely different than serum. I still use serum along with this. This is more like oils and provides deeper level of moisturising and absorbs so much better than any other oils I have used. 

Maybe you can try with The Ordinary Squalane first. I have heard its similar though Indie Lee one is bit lighter (from what I read). But both have same benefits, both derived from olives, and both are great.

If I get the TO one, I will post a comparison here.

@naturalooks15  oh really? I thought it was from seaweed, which made it seem more interesting...lol.  I'll have to look into that... yes, TO is the one I was interested in since it's cheaper...lol. 😛 thanks

I love DE. Their products works SO well with my skin and the Marula is a go to for me. That being said, I bought the Ordinary Marula Oil and have been using it with my other DE products and don't find any difference. I save on the Marula and use that money for C-Firma and D-Bronzi!

I had been using the DE marula oil for a few months until my recent purchase of the Ordinary marula oil. I’ve found that they feel, look, smell, and react with my skin exactly the same. If you switched the contents of the bottles I would never be able to tell. 100% sticking with the Ordinary marula oil! (And saving a good amount of money so I can continue buying DE TLC, C Firma, and Polypeptide cream!!)

@naturalooks15 I highly recommend checking out Stephanie Nicole’s review of the brand on YouTube. She did a ton of research and really explained everything that was offered - I don’t even think I could give nearly as clear of an explanation as her. In my personal opinion I prefer drunk elephant. I did try out a few things from the ordinary and I felt I could tell the quality difference (it was something that turned on me lol like the first week I was like this is awesome and then I was like no this feels like it was $6) but it could just be in my head. Drunk elephant works for me and I like the ease of knowing how to use it and to me that’s worth the money but I know not everyone can make that choice.

I was specifically just wondering about Marula oil thinking its simple one ingredient so hopefully not a performance difference. Not yet planning on trying other things from The Ordinary or playing chemist.

Though while I was researching today I came across NIOD Re: Pigment and plan to do more research on that for battling with my hyper pigmentation.

I have both the Drunk Elephant and The Ordinary Marula oil. 

I like both, but would definitely purchase the Ordinary again. I also love using the Marula oil on my body. I can't afford Drunk Elephant's price to do that. 

I also like The Ordinary's Argan and Rose oil. I am waiting for the squaline oil to come back in stock so I can try it.

@darkchocolate68 I've been wanting to try the squalene too.  I haven't tried marula, but I saw a bottle of Acure organic marula oil on clearance in a store, now I wish I'd gotten it... 😞
