Help!

I have such sensitive skin that almost any cleanser or moisturizer I put on it burns my face. To be exact everything burns my face. What products do you recommend to ensure my skin to get the cleaning it needs without it burning?

Help!

Hey, Audeee! I personally recommend Krave Beauty's Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser. It's great for sensitive skin and very luxurious. I might also recommend Then I Met You's Soothing Tea Cleanser. I use this one daily. If you're interested in moisturizers, I recommend Krave Beauty's Oat So Simple or First Aid Beauty's Ultra Repair Cream. Most of these are not available through Sephora, but they have done wonders for my boyfriend's extremely sensitive skin. Hope this helps!

Re: Help!

Hi, @audeee !

My mother has extremely sensitive skin, but she has been using the unscented Kiehl's products for years. Most Kiehl's products are unscented, but a few are not.  She also uses the Fresh soy face cleanser. I love skin care and try everything!  Kiehl's moisturizers are as mild and sensitive as any I have tried.  Seeing a dermatologist would be best, but if you just want to try some products, patch testing them, you could ask for samples of Kiehl's products and others at Sephora or other stores, depending on the COVID-19 status in your area.  All of this assumes you have not had allergic reactions ever before, which are extremely different than having sensitive skin.  (I have no expertise!)  Best of luck!

Re: Help!

Hi @audeee!

It's very difficult to ask and find a product that won't burn on your skin.  Of course, it might help, but everyone has different skin types and are sensitive to different things.

I have a friend who has sensitive skin, too so she has to be very careful when buying skincare products.  Some people are sensitive or allergic to certain ingredients, even common ones!

- Do you know what exactly causes your face to burn? Or do you have any guesses?

- Are you sensitive or allergic to any ingredients or chemicals?

- Is the burning on your face only or on your body, too?

- Did the burning start more recently or has it always burned?

- In the past, have you used any products that made your skin more sensitive?

- Have you used any products that didn't make your skin burn?

Being able to answer these questions might be the first step in finding the right products for you.  Going to a dermatologist will also help.  They should be able to help you figure out what products are best, what ingredients you are sensitive to, what products are recommended, or they might prescribe you some topical creams.

In the mean time, I suggest you patch test skincare products before using them on your entire face (if you don't already do that).  That way only the small spot where you patch tested will burn and not your entire face.

I've read some articles about some people who realized washing their face with just water and no soap actually made their skin better.  This isn't for everyone, but you could give that a try.  If your skin can handle it, you can try using an exfoliating cloth and just use that to clean your face.  Even without soap, exfoliating will help get rid of dirt and dead skin cells.

Sorry I'm not able to recommend any products but I hope some of this helps!

RE: Re: Help!

Hi! Only makeup remover and certain lotions burn my skin. I don’t get any reaction on my face and it only burns for a couple minutes I always try new products hoping to find one my skin likes. Thanks!

Re: Help!

@audeee

I would seek the help/guidance of a dermatologist as it’s irregular that everything burns your skin. Wouldn’t want to suggest anything that could cause a reaction!

RE: Re: Help!

I don’t get a reaction when I put things on my face. Just certain products like makeup remover or a face cleanser thanks though.
