Help finding a routine for my daughter

My daughter is 12 and has never been into skincare or makeup, but her skin has lately had a few pimples and bumps and she’s starting to be self conscious about it. For christmas she is asking for a skincare routine. I need help finding stuff for her. I want it to be a fun thing for her, so any fun/popular products would help.

Her skin is oily, acne prone, not sensitive (to our knowledge, never has had rashes or eczema)

Re: Help finding a routine for my daughter

@cecesskin Cetaphil or CeraVe are both good options and easy to find at grocery, department, or drug stores. Byoma is also a great one, though not quite as common as the other two brands. They have a cult following on social media. You can search for the brands online and find influencers who use them. That might hook her.

Start with a simple routine of cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Do it twice a day, AM and PM, skipping the sunscreen in the evening. Keeping it simple will help the routine stick. Don’t skip the moisturizer, even if she has oily skin. Sometimes oiliness is the result of the skin compensating for being dehydrated. If you have a routine too, try doing it together. It helps to have someone keep you accountable and it’s chance to have some time together, even if it’s a few moments in the bathroom.

Pimples come with the teenage years. There are pimple patches you can get to spot treat. Some of them look like stickers, so that makes it fun too. If they become too much to manage with spot treatments, you can always speak with her doctor or ask for a referral to a dermatologist.

Re: Help finding a routine for my daughter

Hello,

The brand bubble is super super good for beginners it’s affordable and good quality, she would probably need a cleaner a toner and  a moisturizer, I’ve got bubbles things before and I was very impressed! If you need something more to clean up the acne I would also recommend a serum from the ordinary. I hope this helps!
