HELPPP, clearing acne

I am 21, so I am in-between the teenage and adult acne stage. I have had it since middle school, and have tried almost everything under the sun and can't seem to get it to go away. I have a lot of blackheads in my chin, nose, and some on cheeks, that no matter what I do will not go away.  My pores are enlarged in result of that. And I also have very uneven texture, I have a lot of tiny bumps on my cheeks that having in them I just can't seem to get them to go away. I don't really have a routine, I wash my face morning and night and use a moisturizer. What should I be using / what products would anyone recommend to help with these problems??? It is literally killing my self-esteem and confidence and just need a step in the right direction.

RE: HELPPP, clearing acne

First Aid Cleanser for sensitive skin! This removes makeup, cleanses your skin and is so good for acne prone skin! I recently switched from my Kiehls Toner and started using the Toner from Thayers (Unscented- No alcohol) and noticed a huge difference in pores! Sephora also sells a precision pore cleansing pad that I use along with my cleanser and it has gotten rid of blackheads and also made a difference in pores! ($6)! Lastly, I always recommend the Sunday Riley’s Good Genes because it’s life changing! It addresses a lot of the issues you just mentioned. It is $105 but so so so so worth it! Hope that helps! Xx

neutrogena oil free acne wash is the best and most inexpensive. It is orange in a clear bottle.

Look into The Ordinary products!

@Sophia97 Have you seen a dermatologist? There's more ingredient options going that route and will kickstart finding a routine for you with less of a headache.

What exact products are you using? Skin type?

Re: HELPPP, clearing acne

I have tried a dermatologist a few times. I also tried Curology recently and it helped a little but not as much as I would like. I use a neutrogena gentle cleanser in the morning and an oatmeal scrub face wash at night. My skin is combination, I find it to be very oily in some spots but very dry in others.

Re: HELPPP, clearing acne

If you wear makeup, a scrub isnt removing it completely. Most skin doesn't need daily exfoliation and can exacerbate the problem. What moisturizer?

How long have you tried dermatologist products before giving up? Were you using as directed? There are pills that can help in conjunction with topicals. Not all derms focus on acne. What active ingredients have you tried? Without more detail harder to recommend something you haven't tried.
