Hi, @addy1443 !  It's up to you.  It does smell like watermelon.  I haven't used mine yet, though I did open it to take a whiff.  I love the scent.  I really like these Laneige lip products.  I've been using them for years.  I put it on right before bed.  It comes with a silicone applicator so you don't have to dip your finger in the jar.  However, I use the applicator from my  Tatcha The Water Cream Oil-Free Pore Minimizing Refillable Moisturizer 2.5 oz / 75 mL  instead.
