Good Primers??

I have just about the worst acne ever! Any good primers that won't cause breakouts?? Thank youuu.

RE: Good Primers??

For a more affordable option, NYX Angel Veil is an oil-free primer I think very well suited for oily skin types. It's very fluffy and light and pairs best with liquid, mattifying foundations in my experience. This primer would be helpful if oil is the principle cause of your breakouts, as opposed to pollutants, dust, etc.

RE: Good Primers??

I’ve used the MUFE hydrating primer and Benefit porefessional on my acne-prone skin with no issues. Hope it works for you too!

Re: Good Primers??

cover fx has a great mattifying primer that has salicylic acid in it to help with acne too. my skin looks better in the morning after i go out surprisingly

RE: Good Primers??

I use to have really bad break outs especially in my tzone. I started using the Clarisonic Mia 2 with Peter Thomas Roth skin care but I found it was was too drying and ended up making me break out more. After doing some research I have found that the philosophy Purity 3in1 cleanser was the best thing for my skin and I’ve never gone back to anything else. As for primer I really like the Smashbox water primer. It’s nice and light and feels really good on my skin and doesn’t burn. I feel like it makes my make up last longer too. Or I use the urban decay prep spray with vitamin b which is also really refreshing and can be applied on top of make up as well.

Re: Good Primers??

Is your skin sensitive or acne prone? My guess is that you need to change your skincare routine. You would need a good cleanser and exfoliator to clean the skin and get rid of debris that can clog your pores. I highly recommend drunk elephant. I know it can be pricey but you can try their trial size day routine that $23 (or $28). For primers, either too faced or fenty

Re: Good Primers??

there's definitely a handful of great ones on the market, but when picking up any primer, be sure to not get one with any kind of silicones (dimethicone included) as a main ingredient. silicone primers act as a barrier for your skin to put products on top of, which prevents your skin from breathing. while a lot of silicone-based primers make appears smaller, it's going to clog your pores.

try something like the laura mercier oil free primer, or kat von d's hydrating primer. if you go into sephora you can always pick up some samples and try a few out. good luck! 🙂

Re: Good Primers??

I've found that silicone in my makeup makes my acne much worse.  You may want to consider avoiding it for a few weeks to see if your skin is sensitive to it as well.  I now use the Jouer Anti-Blemish Matte Primer which is silicone-free and it works well for me.  If you are interested in silicone-free primers, Too Faced Hangover Rx and Milk Blur Stick are both silicone-free.

Re: Good Primers??

I would defiantly recommend the bare minerals combo control milky face primer it is so gentle on my skin and it holds my makeup in place all day

Re: Good Primers??

I don't know if it won't break you out @Anonymous because that is so hard to call. But the Marc Jacobs Coconut Water Primer that @depatricia recommended is the one I use and I get really good results with it. It's not slick like something with silicone. It applies almost like a moisturizer. It might be worthwhile to see if you can get a sample.

RE: Good Primers??

I'd recommend you a primer from Marc Jacob it is coconut . It's very good and light plus it has coconut water which is great for your skin ! U should definitely try it .
