Good Genes Replacement

Was it Glycolic Acid that was removed from GG? I’m looking for a serum with Lactic and Glycolic similar to GG. It was fabulous for smoothing texture.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

I really like the Paulas choice 10% advanced smoothing treatment. Has lactic malic and glycolic acid. @GG84  I like GG but it’s so pricey! I’ve used Paulas choice previously and went back to the leave on exfoliant.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84 I don't know if you're interested but you can actually snag a full-size GG for half price on GMA deals today only (w/free shipping!).

@CookieGirl1

I don’t know what that is, I’m Canadian. Good Morning America? Thanks for the info but I’m trying to find something new to love.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84 *Smacks forehead* I'm sorry, @GG84 , I totally forgot that you were Canadian.  I wasn't sure if you were looking for a replacement because of the EU reformulation or because you actually wanted something totally different.  Do you want something stronger or about the same concentration of lactic acid as GG?

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@CookieGirl1

I’m open to anything.
I love DDG products but he doesn’t have anything with Lactic, DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE - Stress Rescue Super Serum with Niacinamide this sounds kind of good?

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84 The DDG peel actually does have lactic, BTW.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@CookieGirl1   SOLD thank you! I didn’t even give that product a second look 💕

Re: Good Genes Replacement

I've tried a small trial size version before and didn't have any problems using it, @GG84.  Worth a shot, anyway :).

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84 I've heard some positive things about that one, @GG84.  I was also thinking about a couple of others-- Kate Somerville Liquid ExfoliKate® Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment 4 oz/ 120 mL , DR. DENNIS GROSS SKINCARE - Clinical Grade Resurfacing Liquid Peel, MOON JUICE - Acid Potion , and the  Murad Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel 3.3 oz/ 100 mL were the ones that immediately came to mind.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84

Good Genes was reformulated for the EU market due to a change in rules there regarding Lactic Acid, but as far as I know, the North American version didn't change. Here, it's Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment, while for Europe, it's now Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment.

They did tweak some of the underlying ingredients earlier this year too, to help facilitate to drop in price, and to be able to use buzzwords like "more sustainable" and "cleaner", whatever da fuq that's supposed to mean. But that didn't affect the acid or the concentration.

I know there are LA/GA combos out there, but I can't think of a single one off the top of my head 😛 Hopefully someone else will have some recs for you, if you are still more interested in that over Good Genes 🙂

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@RGbrown

Am I going cuckoo? Maybe I’m wrong then and it never contained both ingredients and I just don’t love it anymore. I tried to convince myself I loved this bottle as much as my old one but I just don’t.

Re: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84

I'm not certified in diagnosing cuckoo 😛 But if it ain't working anymore, then it ain't working anymore. I hope you find something you like better!

RE: Good Genes Replacement

@GG84 Have you looked into Farmacy’s Honeymoon Glow? It contains both ingredients you are looking for. Also, Biossance’s Lactic Acid + squalene is good; however, it does not have glycolic acid. Good luck!
