Good Exfoliate

I’m currently on the market for a good exfoliate. I tried the peter Thomas Roth walnut one and it seemed too harsh. But the Clinique one is not good enough. Is there something out there for me? Any suggestions.

Re: Good Exfoliate

@ALS09 I like chemical exfoliation.  BHA (I only like PC) is best for acne/blackheads, and works from the inside out.  AHA is best for anti-aging/surface, and works on the outside.

If you are looking for a scrub, I personally like Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash.  It IS gritty, so if you don't care for the PTR one then you might not like it.  Neutrogena makes some decent scrubs; just avoid those with a lot of menthol and the ones that are overly fragranced (like the grapefruit one).

Good luck!  🙂

I love the Tatcha rice powder. I also love AHA exfoliants. I use Good Genes but I know the Herbivore Tansay mask is amazing for everything but very sensitive skin. I’ve used Drunk Elephant glycolic... didn’t love it. Just make sure you don’t over exfoliate.. I used to do that and I got so patchy and flakey.

I use tatcha rice enzyme, it's a very gentle exfoliant, and makes my skin look radiant afterwards. I have combo dry skin and uses this everyday without problems. They have a mini size available if u want to try it out

RE: Good Exfoliate

TRY the Clinique Pep-start 2 in 1 exfoliating cleanser. It exfoliates and cleanses your skin at the same time. It foams up and has exfoliating beads that really give you a good exfoliation and get rid of the dry, dead skin. I was hooked since I’ve tried it!

Re: Good Exfoliate

For softening skin, the fresh sugar face polish is good (apply to dry skin for maximum abrasion).  I also use the olehenriksen sauna scrub, for better cleansing power.

Re: Good Exfoliate

@ALS09, if you are looking for a physical exfoliator, I'd recommend one of the rice powder enzymes from Tatcha or Dermalogica Dailymicrofoliant.  The original, or classic, version of the Tatcha rice powder enzyme is available in travel size and full size on Sephora.  If you have sensitive skin, Tatcha also has a gentle rice powder enzyme and a soothing rice powder enzyme.  I don't think Sephora carries these two types, but you can get mini/travel or full size versions of both on Tatcha's website - their Friends & Family Sale is going on right now, so it's 20% off products.  The Dermalogica product also comes in a full size and a mini version - this has salicylic acid in it so if you are sensitive or allergic to that, you should probably pass on the Dermalogica product.

If you are looking for a chemical exfoliator, I recommend the First Aid Beauty Radiance Pads - it contains lactic acid and glycolic acid.  It's a very gentle exfoliant.  If your skin can handle stronger acids, I would recommend either the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel pads, the Cane & Austin pads or Pixi Glow Tonic.

The babyfacial by drunk elephant is amazing. Excellent reviews all around and expensive but way worth it.

RE: Good Exfoliate

Are you only looking at physical exfoliators? I love the Tatcha Cleansing powder, the exfoliation is not the physical powder but the enzyme and smooths my face out!

hi, I love the neogen pads. they are amazing!

RE: Good Exfoliate

I love the Lancer Polish. It’s pricey but really nice and not too harsh. During the sale, I discovered OleHenriksen’s Pore Balance Sauna Scrub. It’s a bit harsher than the Lancer Polish, but it’s great for a deep scrub. I like to use the Lancer every other day (I have combo skin) and I’ll use the OleHenriksen one once a week.
