Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

Which one do you think works the best/which is your favorite?

Re: Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

@MaDeLiNe4728  The answer depends on what you want these products to do for your skin. If you just want a good simple routine that will maintain generally healthy skin, then you just need a non-drying cleanser, a moisturizer, and a broad spectrum sunscreen—and they don’t need to be Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant products. They can be CeraVe, Cetaphil, Vanicream, The Inkey List, Bubble, etc. I’m in my 50s and my skincare routine’s always been a mix of products by various brands.

My opinion of Drunk Elephant is that their products are overpriced, even for someone my age with my skin issues and skincare goals. Anyone whose skin is sensitive/reactive to marula oil (or oleic acid, which marula oil contains) should probably avoid Drunk Elephant because that oil’s in many of DE’s products. (It’s not a bad or unsafe ingredient—in fact, it’s quite good for dry skin! But some people are sensitive to it.)

On the flip side, Glow Recipe always feels too gimmicky to me as a brand: too much marketing and formulation fluff, not enough effective science-based bang for my buck. Very few GR products have ever done much for my particular skin. I like their hydrating mist, but whenever I buy a bottle it goes bad before I can use it up—so I’ve quit buying it. But we don’t all have the same skin, so your results could vary.

Also if you are younger drunk elephant is not as appropriate but some stuff from glow recipe is

Re: Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

Glow recipe works better for normal skin to oily - if your dry or acne prone choose drink elephant 🤗 hope this helps

Re: Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

Neither in my opinion. But I'm older. I don't find Glow Recipe does much & definitely doesn't provide enough moisturization for me. Drunk Elephant is better in terms of moisture but I find it burns my eyes & causes break outs. And I do not have sensitive skin nor am I prone to that at my ripe old age of 52. I took Accutane in my twenties & hasn't been an issue since unless a product doesn't agree with me.

Re: Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

That's hard to choose...I love both but Glow Recipe is more affordable. But they are both AMAZING!!!

Re: Glow Recipe or Drunk Elephant?

Glow recipe is my favorite especially their serums.
