First retinol serum! The Ordinary vs. Peter Thomas Roth?

I'm going to take the plunge and order my first retinol serum... but I need advice. Has anyone tried both the Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Fusion PM AND any of The Ordinary's 2% formulas?  I've read great things bout the PTR, but The Ordinary's price point is hard to ignore...

Any thoughts or other recs?

I went through a similar debate. I have been using the PTR Retinol Fusion PM for two years, but as you said, the price of The Ordinary is hard to ignore. I looked them both up on Paula's Choice Beautypedia. Retinol Fusion PM got 5/5 stars, the Retinoid 2% for 3/5. I'd suggest checking it out, reading her thoughts, and deciding for yourself. 🙂 I choose to stick to PTR. I've been very happy with it and have seen results over time.

I've seen great results from the PTR serum, but I'm definitely tempted by the lower price point...may try The Ordinary next.

@katejg I really like The Ordinary's Advanced Retinoid 2%. You can't go wrong with The Ordinary tbh.

I just checked their website and saw that they renamed and reformulated it.. I'm going to assume that it's an improved version though!
