Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

What product(s) have you found helpful to fade away sun spots, dark spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation?

thanks girls

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

I have some dark spots and sun spots that I've been trying to get rid of or at least fading away. I've cleared up quite a bit with Eadem Dark Spot Serum, sunscreen and vitamin C creams over the years. Picked up these three and thought it might be worthwhile to put them to the test vis-a-vis some peskier spots and each other.

It's been about 3 weeks and so far, it seems like they're all doing a fairly good job. I wasn't expecting any overnight miracles but the progress so far has exceeded my expectations.

I applied all 3 in the evening, to different areas of my face, to address different concerns

  • Topicals Faded Tranexamic Acid Dark Spot Patches for Hyperpigmentation 20 Patches/pack  - has been used on a post-acne dark spot - it's huge, larger than the rest of the spots, and larger than any PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) spot that I've ever had. These take a long time to heal and fade away for me so I really wasn't expecting too much. To my pleasant surprise, I noticed after about a week-and-a-half that the color of the spot was beginning to become less dark, which in itself is amazing progress.  Size has only started to show some slight change at the end of last week (week 3). I'll continue to use this and track progress.

  • EADEM The Mark Advanced Targeted Dark Spot Concentrate with 5% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Alpha Arbutin & 1... - I've given this one product a few different types of spots - sun spots on the left side of my face - it gets the most sun, from driving. I apply extra sunscreen there when I remember. I also applied this Eadem concentrate to some very stubborn dark spots that just have not been healing or fading away on my chin, two medium size one and one small one. I'm also using it on some dark spots that I've lost track of how long I've had them.  The last ones are still there but the sun spots are breaking up and the ones on my chin are almost faded away!!! 🙌 I went in for a facial and even the aesthetician noticed that the spots on my chin were almost completely gone!

I've been really impressed with all of these products so far, which makes me feel good about my purchases. 😁 Will check back in again in about a month (or sooner if some of the spots are completely gone before then).

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

@itsfi , oookkkkkkaaaayyyy, let's hear it fit the fade!

So, I picked up EADEM The Mark Advanced Targeted Dark Spot Concentrate with 5% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Alpha Arbutin & 1... presale, was worried it would OOSed and it did... I got mixed results this far, but still like it.  Like I have to space out how often I use it, which is weird.  It works well for me half the time.  Thank you for your observations.

I'll stick with it and just keep alternating between this and Topicals Faded Tranexamic Acid Dark Spot Patches for Hyperpigmentation 20 Patches/pack

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

Oh no, mixed results @danielledanielle? Like good and nothing at all? Or, good and made your skin (the treatment spot and the area around it) react badly? I can see needing to space out the product. How often are you spacing out usage of fthe Eadem? I'm finding it works better on my post-acne dark spots than my sun spots. I might switch to the Dr. Idriss for my sun spots below the eye area or go back with the Eadem dark spot serum.

Yeah, I don't know what it is, it's somehow managed to work well against the stubborn dark spots on my chin that I always get from acne. Even my aesthetician was delighted when I saw her yesterday, I think. She literally said, "your skin looks great, your chin!" Then she asked me what I've been doing differently because she's not seen my acne spots clearing up like that around my chin area. I resisted the urge to run home and apply it on my face right when I got home.

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

@itsfi I feel like if I use the EADEM The Mark Advanced Targeted Dark Spot Concentrate with 5% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Alpha Arbutin & 1... on the same spot, too many times, it gets congested.  It doesn't happen after a specific number of uses, but let's say I'm using it on the exact same area 2+ days in a row, there's congestion.  I think it's timing, like a hormonal shift.  So, I'll switch between the dots and Eadem and that seems to work ok.  Interestingly enough, I read a review on Sephora that Topicals Faded Tranexamic Acid Dark Spot Patches for Hyperpigmentation 20 Patches/pack helped with a cystic acne mark, and I've seen success with that.

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

That’s making a lot of sense to me, @danielledanielle. The dark spot I’ve been using the Topicals patch on (and having good results 👍🏻) is from cystic acne. This is all really helpful to know when it comes to my acne care routine.

Re: Fading away dark spots, sun spots, or post-acne hyperpigmentation

Thank you, @itsfi! I did buy the Topicals Faded Tranexamic Acid Dark Spot Patches for Hyperpigmentation 20 Patches/pack during the sale. I’ll post once they get here. I’m glad to hear you like them.
