FOREO UFO

Hello, Can anybody tell me about the FOREO UFO? It’s a tool I am extremely intrigued by, however I am hesitant to pull the trigger. Has anyone got it and if so what is your experience and opinion about it? One thing I am concerned about is can I only use the FOREO brand masks? If so in Canada (my home) a pack of 7 costs $16-$25 plus tax. If I use this a lot that is going to get costly, about$720-$1200 a year. Im not usually one to complain about money and costs of stuff, but to me that seems expensive. Any advice and opinions would really help me out! Thank you.

RE: FOREO UFO

I purchased the Foreo Luna and had it for about 1 month, I was really excited to try it and I can honestly say I didn’t think it was worth the price tag. I payed about $111 after the 20% discount I was able to use. Don’t get me wrong, i liked it and noticed maybe my skin looked cleaner then just hand washing but not for the price point. I returned it and while browsing Amazon I found a similar product for around $30, from Sunmay. Just as good in my opinion!

RE: FOREO UFO

I’m sorry your Device is different then the Luna! Your definitely right about that device and if I didn’t the fofo (smart forero Luna) for free I probably would have bought a cheeper one off amazon. But the FOREO UFO is not a face cleanser, it’s actually completely different it’s a mask application device that had led treatment, cryotherapy (cold therapy), thermal therapy (heat treatments), massage pulsation. It’s pretty cool looking and I haven’t seen anything like it at all.

Re: FOREO UFO

@Wolfgirl22 I bought it and quite like it. It’s pretty expensive by itself though since I’ve bought it I’ve seen it $100 cheaper on two occasions. I don’t think the masks are that expensive since most Face masks run you $3+ Even the cheaper ones. I have however used it with different face masks by gliding the UFO over a regular sheet mask and it works pretty much the same. I think it does help the mask serum absorb faster. One thing to consider is that each mask has a different mode (LED light + vibration + hot/cold) that is supposed to be targeted toward the ingredients/purpose of that mask. It works with an app on your phone that scans the barcode of the mask and lets the UFO know what program to run. If you don’t have all the masks, you’re limited in the programs you can run. A way to go around this is to take a picture of the barcode of the masks with one phone and then scan that barcode pic with the app (the programs get saved on your UFO]. Overall, the ingredients in the masks are pretty good (no denatured alcohol for example). I think you could also use this directly on your skin with a thicker serum but it does get pretty hot and cold so if you have sensitive skin probably not. I’ve got all the masks so let me know if there are any in particular that interest you if you decide to purchase.

RE: Re: FOREO UFO

Can you tell me about your favourite masks and why you enjoy them? Yeah I guess it really is not any cheeper. Have you do the programs you get save onto the app or do you have to scan every time?

Re: RE: Re: FOREO UFO

@Wolfgirl22 I’m not very picky with Sheet Masks, I just make sure that they don’t include drying or sensitizing ingredients like alcohol or a lot of fragrance, and that they include beneficial ingredients like Niacinamide, hyaluronic acid or antioxidants. I went through the ingredient list of all the options for the UFO (it had to be in person, I couldn’t find the ingredient lists online) and didn’t encounter anything that put me off. I actually have one of each, since I found that there were ingredients in each that I was attracted to. Let me know if any of them interest you in particular and I’ll take a pic of the ingredients.

Also, I went on the UFO website and compiled the “treatment program” for each mask.

[  ] Youth Junkie (collagen, vitamin e, & shea butter)- prep (30 sec warming + red LED), renew (60 sec warming + red LED + t-sonic), nourish (30 sec red LED + T-sonic)
[  ] Call it a Night (ginseng & olive oil)- prep + nourish (30 sec warming + red LED + t-sonic), revitalize (60 sec warming + red LED + t-sonic)
[  ] Glow Addict (pearl extract & niacinamide)- prep (30 sec warming + red LED), brighten (30 sec warming + green LED + t-sonic), glow (30 sec green LED + T-sonic)
[  ] H2Overdose (hyaluronic acid & ceramide)- prep (30 sec warming + red LED), hydrate (60 sec warming + red LED + t-sonic), soothe (30 sec green LED + T-sonic)
[  ] Shimmer Freak (rose water + caffeine)-  prep (30 sec warming + red LED), illuminate (30 sec cooling + red LED + t-sonic), refresh (30 sec cooling + blue LED + T-sonic)
[  ] Make My Day (hyaluronic acid & red algae)- prep (30 sec warming + red LED), moisturize (30 sec warming + red LED + t-sonic), protect (30 sec red LED + T-sonic)
[  ] Matte Maniac (charcoal & snow lotus)- prep (30 sec warming + red LED), purify (30 sec cooling + blue LED + t-sonic), calm (30 sec cooling + purple LED + T-sonic)

accoring to Foreo, red LED helps prep the skin, blue is for imperfections, and green is for brightening. T sonic pulsation are to drive the ingredients deeper into the skin.

When you download the app, it comes with the programs for the Make My Day and Call it a Night Masks. You need to scan the barcodes of the other masks in order to get their programs. Once you scan them, they get saved.

if you use the app, it’s gonna ask you to scan them each time but the programs are already saved to your UFO so even if you don’t have the mask or the app you just press the button on the UFO and it will light up on each mask spot, so you can press until you get to the one you want. Does that make sense.?  Sadly you need the barcode for the first time but like I said before if you take a picture of the barcode and then scan that it works just as well.
