Dull skin

Advice needed. I am 49. My skin looks dull and tired.

Re: Dull skin

Try using a retinol! You only need a small amount. Sephora has tons but I use paulas choice. Also use a good moisturizer , and a good sunscreen! Be consistent and you’ll defs notice a change 🙂

Re: Dull skin

I got you hun,

You may want to try some actives in your skincare

A good Vitamin C serum and an SPF

OR

An exfoliating toner would do wonders.

With these ingredients, you always want to use an SPF because it can cause your skin to burn very easily which could make your problems worse.

Overall just having a simple routine can show amazing results.  Beauty within is a youtube channel that goes into an ingredient in skincare as well as product recommendations, I highly recommend you look into them for more research.

IN the mornings

Find a good cleanser that doesn't strip your skin

La roch posay has some great ones, as well as First Aid Beauty.  Simple but effective.  If you were makeup don't use a makeup wipe they give you wrinkles and have no good ingredients in them, use an oil-based cleanser like the inky list oat cleansing balm and then go into one of the water-based cleansers (la roch posay or First Aid beauty one).

You could use a toner to spice up your skincare but this is not needed I love the Caudalie grape water, great for antioxidants and calming the skin, and relatively cheap.

Serums this is where you would use a vitamin C serum these can be very iffy on whether or not your skin likes them or not.  naturium has a regular Vitamin C serum that is simple without extra ingredients (orange labeled one).

You could also use a hydrating serum for the extra plumping benefits, the ordinary has a hyaluronic acid serum that like 6$ that helps to hydrate the skin and its so cheap.

Find a good moisturizer to lock everything in (this is something I feel you should find on your own because this is one of the more important especially for your skin type.  You don't need to spend more than like 45$ on one tho the ones at the drugstore work fine too.

Finally SPF YOU NEED TO WEAR SPF there is no need to not wear one know that they make them with no white cast.  just search up no white cast sunscreen and pick from the hundreds out there.

For your pm routine do the same thing but instead of Vitamin c, you cause to use a retinal.

Olay retinal 24 is a great serum you would apply after your moisturizer but it helps to exfoliate and resurface the skin.

Hope this helps.

Re: Dull skin

The ordinary glycolic toner would work well to but you'd only use it in the morning or on days when you don't use retinal

Re: Dull skin

I am 49! I will be 50 in march. I am sharing a couple of items that have really helped make my skin much more glowy. However, my biggest issue now is large pores. I have not found anything to really make the difference I want to see.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Serum for Oily Skin is a miracle worker for reducing redness & all over balancing of skin. It has even relieved little, tiny bumps that I would get along my cheeks where my hair brushes against them.

OLEHENRIKSEN Transforming Walnut Scrub is so satisfying! I do have somewhat sensitive skin and this does nothing to irritate it at all.

Mario Badescu Witch Hazel & Rosewater Toner 8 oz/ 236 mL just is perfect after cleansing to restore pH balance and lick up any leftover make-up

Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm is heaven. I would have never look twice at this product but got it as a promo or in my monthly box. It literally melts the day away.
