Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

I am happy to pay for high end skincare (if it works!) so I donโ€™t mind the high price, but is Drunk Elephant worth the investment? What products are people loving and which products arenโ€™t working? Also, specifically, do you use vitamin C?

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

I've used the Drunken Elephant baby facial, I really like it and think it's very effective. I've also used their Shaba eye serum and honestly believe that is the only thing I've used that has actually effectively helped lighten my dark circles. Lastly currently using the LaLa Retro Whipped cream, I only use it in the winter because I believe it's a heavy cream and too much for my skin in the summer but perfect hydration for the winter. Hope this was somewhat helpful!

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

While the line turned out not to be an option for me personally, I think many of the products from DE are worth it for a lot of people.

Given the price point, I would suggest trying samples first if you can or consider experimenting with cheaper alternatives to find out if you can use things like Marula Oil and Vitamin C on your skin without issues.

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

@AngieB03 DE is amazing...I was so nervous at first due to having sensitive/combo skin.  I've been using DE for a month and I haven't had any breakouts or issues with my skin.....I love using  Pekee Bar to wash my face and follow up at night with T.L.C. Framboos with Virgin Marula oil....in the morning B-Hydra serum with a small amount of Tatcha water cream for my really dry areas.  However,  I will be picking up a DE moisturizer next maybe the Protini or Lala Retro.

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

I haven't tried many of the products but I do own  Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacialโ„ข AHA + BHA Mask 1.69 oz/ 50 mL and it did come with a trial size of the  Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL and I do love those products and believe they are truly worth the money. If you are able, try buying the Littles gift set and give them a go, because I find that a little goes a long way with this brand.

RE: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

Hi @AngieB03 ! DE products that I think are worth their price are Sukari BabyFacial, C - Firma, B- Hydra and Protini and Lala Whipped Cream. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s just me, but I definitely see a difference in my skin when I stop using them. I think their sets are worth trying especially since you get to try a variety of their products. Hope this helps!

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

I have mixed feelings about DE.  I tried B-Hydra and C-Firma, and I'm pretty certain the C-Firma is what broke me out.  (The B-Hydra was fine.) And it wasn't purging because it pretty much resembled a hormonal breakout for me.

On the other hand, I liked the moisturizers I tried, the LaLa Retro and Protini.  I like them both, and neither broke me out.  I also liked the D-bronzi, but didn't go back after to it after a breakout.  I suspect it was the BB cream I was using, and not the D-Bronzi.

I would echo what some others have stated here, which is try their "Littles" and see how you like it.  Usually, there's enough product in those to last you 2 weeks or so.

Re: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

@AngieB03 Yes it is definitely worth it! I use the C-Firma, B-Hydra, Lala retro, and C-tango in the morning and TLC Framboos, Marula oil, Protini, and Shaba in the evening. I also use the Babyfacial once weekly. My skin looks so much better. I will definitely keep buying these products. I also use the beste cleanser and the lippe balm but they are just ok so Iโ€™m not sure if I will buy them again.

@AngieB03,

I really like the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil 1 oz/ 30 mL

It is very hydrating and I don't feel oily after applying it.

she is right, the oil just leaves the skin with a soft finish. I like it best after I use the T.L.C. Night serum from Drunk Elephant. The serum helps to smooth out texture and the macula oil is the icing on the cake. ๐Ÿฐ

RE: Drunk Elephant: Worth the Hype???

Being a skeptic myself with sensitive skin I had the same question before using the Drunk Elephant line. I am in my mid forties and still suffered from cystic acne and using prescription retinol for over 5 years, but not getting any positive results. I had tried everything from higher end to drugstore brand. While on a mission to try yet again a new skincare line I came across Drunk Elephant (intrigued by the name). I looked into the brands philosophy and background only to discover that it is a fairly new brand and decided to give it a try. I purchased their โ€œthe littlesโ€ set to start. It includes everything you would need for a daily & nightly routine. As with any introduction of a new product or product line there will be an adjustment period and may include purging as part if the de-sensitizing period. Mine took three weeks. I am glad I stuck it through as many people donโ€™t and blame it on the products being bad. I also swapped out the Lala Retro moisturizer for the Protini one because I do have aging skin. I have been using this line as my primary regimen for almost one year with positive results. I even stopped my prescription Retinol after 3 months in. The foundation of skin is all the same with the exception of its sub category of normal, dry, oily or combination. For me using the Drunk Elephant line has improved my combination skin and made it normal. I no longer have the need for oil control serums or powders or blotting sheets throughout the day. But everyone has a preference and a budget. Itโ€™s up to you to decide if itโ€™s the right choice for you. Just like any regimen you follow to take care of your body in the inside, same goes for the outside as long as you stick with it and go with what works for you ๐Ÿ™‚
