Drunk Elephant/Sunday Riley together?

Hi ladies! I have been tweaking my skincare routine. I had an issue the other night that I can’t quite pinpoint. Not sure If I’ve just mixed it up too much recently and Freaked out my skin or if I combined two things I shouldn’t have. I have normal to dry skin. Working on wrinkles. A little redness on cheeks (I was once told that’d go away once I stopped exfoliating so much but...). I don’t see my skin as being dull or weird texture. Just trying to smooth out more and attack wrinkles. I had been using some Bobbi brown skin care then switched to kiehls. I recently have been doing good genes by SR and Luna at night. I only started Luna Sunday night but had had a good genes sample a week prior. During the day I was trying kiehls vitamin c stuff and ultra facial cream. So the other night I got the DE samples or beste and lala. I washed my face at night w the beste. Then did GG and Luna. W a very thin layer of lala. My skin was sooooooo soft. In the morning, my skin was still super soft. I washed with beste again. Left it on while I put in shampoo (I usually do this with kiehls cucumber cleanser) and my face started BURNING. I rinsed it off super fast. It was still hot and bright red when I got out. Needless to say I’ve backed off and just done basics since then. My skin feels better. I’m just not sure what happened. Any ideas? Like I said I assume I just did too much or maybe two of those don’t agree. Many thanks!!!!

Hi Roxy! Personally, DE and SR are two of my favorite lines, so I’ve had a lot of success cocktailing those products without issue. However, I agree with the poster above. It could have been the Vitamin C, or a mix of Vitamin C + Luna Oil because it has Retinol, even though it is designed to be gentle. I definitely think you did the right think by keeping your routine to the basics while your skin calms down, and slowly reintroducing the quality ingredients to your skin (lactic, Retinol, vit c) overtime will help. First Aid Beauty has a great Retinol, as does Tata Harper. Caudalie’s Vinoperfect is an amazing, potent alternative to vit c. I find these lines work very well independent of or with SR and DE. DE and SR products don't play well that I've found. so i had GG sample first, ran out of that and then I was using the DE Framboo sample with no problem. , and then ran out of that sample. the next night I began my newly purchased SR GG and Luna. Wow! I had to wash it off, it stung so badly. maybe it was the vita C from that morning, and I'm sorry to say I can't remember what brand I was using that morning. could have been OH. anyway, once I finish my GG (bought big bottle!) and Luna, im going to use TO with DE mixed in. I think SR is a great product, but I saw better results with DE.
