Dehydrated skin, help!

I have dehydrated dry skin- I’ve been using oils to hydrate my skin but I want to try a night time moisturizer. I’m allergic to soy and I have very sensitive skin. Does anyone have any recommendations?

RE: Dehydrated skin, help!

I think the best one-two punch to keep skin plump and hydrated is a facial oil, followed up with a ‘water gel’ that will be absorbed into your skin and also seal in your products. Tatcha the water cream Sunday Riley’s tidal Boscia’s cactus water gel Belif aqua bomb sleeping mask Dr. Jart has one too though I can’t think what it’s called at the moment. These water gels are all formulated a bit differently but they hydrate and plump with HA and are absorbed into the skin better than traditional lotions, which really sit on top of skin. Tidal is my favorite out of the bunch but it’s not cheap. Blithe makes two pressed serums that I would HIGHLY recommend as well. The chaga pressed serum has a custardy texture and is extremely moisturizing, a ‘pressed serum’ is a combo serum and moisturizer so it has the potency of a serum with the hydration of a moisturizer. The apricot pressed serum is almost like Vaseline but it melts into your skin and leaves a visible dewy finish. I will go check those out for soy ingredients and get back if any of them have allergens.

No soy in any of those products 🙂 and dr. Jart’s water cream is called water fuse Good luck and happy skin 🙏🏻

@Cosmeticlove I would recommend adding an essence like TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener or SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence as well as a hydrating serum like DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra™ Intensive Hydration Serum or TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate.  As for moisturizer I love FRESH - Rose Deep Hydration Moisturizer.  By adding an essence and hydrating serum it will help with the dryness and make your skin feel really hydrated.  You can also incorporate a hydrating mist like CAUDALIE - Beauty Elixir.

RE: Re: Dehydrated skin, help!

If you have dehydrated skin, you won’t need “oil”... you need “water”... oil will moisturize, water/hylauronic acid will hydrate. I’m in the same situation, so the best thing that works for me is to use a hydrating serum with hylauronic acid, followed by a few sprays of either herbivore’s rose hydrating mist or just spring water from La Roche Posay, then you can follow with oil to seal it all in. Hope this helps!
