Crows Feet

Hi guys! I'm desperate here, I have really noticeable crows feet. What is your advice to get rid of them? I'm in my mid-thirties and don't seem to have wrinkles anywhere else. I use a cream and serum. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me!!

RE: Crows Feet

Hey Stormy, I just turned 35 and finally got rid of the crow’s feet I started noticing around age 33. I use mainly Tatcha products but in the mornings I use a cocktail from The Ordinary and I focus those products around my temples and eye area, basically massaging the crow’s feet prior to moisturizer. Those products were the Matrixyl, Niacinamide, and Caffeine solution. The ingredients don’t have any interactions so you can cocktail the three together. I’ve found that’s worked wonders on my crow’s feet and other areas I’ve noticed fine lines forming. And the best part is they’re from The Ordinary so they’re the most affordable products available for this sort of issue.

Re: RE: Crows Feet

Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely be looking into those products! I should've started taking care of my skin issues way earlier than now.. I'm paying the price for sure.

Re: Crows Feet

Hi @stormy418 I so feel your pain. Some of my favourite eyecare products that I find have been helping with my own crowsfeet complaints are:

TATA HARPER - Restorative Anti-Aging Eye Cream

DR. BRANDT SKINCARE - needles no more® NO MORE BAGGAGE™ eye de-puffing gel

Murad Retinol Youth Renewal Eye Serum 0.5 oz/ 15 mL

I hope you find something that you feel works for you.

Re: Crows Feet

Thank you! I have ordered a few of the DE products to try. Hopefully I have success with them. If not I'll be trying different suggestions!!

Is there retinol in one of those products? It's tricky to use anything harsh around your eyes because the skin is thin and sensitive, but retinol and vitamin c are go-to ingredients for wrinkle fighting. Another one is alpha lipoic acid, and The Ordinary carries a very cheap ALA serum that is fantastic for wrinkles. It's a sulphuric fatty acid, so don't be surprised when it smells like burning tires. The directions say to use the serum two or three times a week, but you can absolutely take a drop and split it between your two sets of crow's feet. Another option is Ole Henriksen's Truth Serum, which has both vitamin c and ALA. You can also take ALA supplements, and you'll be surprised what a difference you will see. If you think you might want to change eye creams altogether, Obagi Clinical has a Vitamin c eye product that has Kinetin, a patented ingredient that has been clinically proven to reduce wrinkles. Make sure you protect your eyes from the sun as much as possible and get regular eye exams to reduce squinting. If you want to supercharge your results, you might want to call up a couple of medspas when they're open again and see what kind of treatments they offer and if you can lock in a low price. But know that no matter how much you hold back the clock, wrinkles will come to stay eventually, and those smile lines are part of your beautiful history.

Do you have a picture of the ordinary ALA product?

I'm gutted, as by looking online for a photo I discovered that they aren't making it anymore!! I did a reverse search on Cosdna to see what products contain it (it's often listed as thioctic acid) and fortunately found a ton, in various price ranges. These include most Perricone MD products, the entire line of derma-E Firming DMAE products (toner, serum, and moisturizer), Garden of Wisdom Eternal Youth Elixir, Paula's Choice Resist Anti-aging Serum, Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multi Vitamin Eye Cream, Trader Joe's Antioxidant Facial Serum. It's also available in tons of products from Skinactives dot com, which you should definitely check out if you haven't, including their crazy affordable Vitamin C Serums. I'm surprised The Ordinary stopped selling it (it was just ALA in I think propranadeol) as it was loved, but who knows, they brought out tons of new stuff. Fortunately I still have half a bottle left because I kept forgetting to use it, because I have spent myself into a serious no buy. If you want to check Cosdna for more products (I left out tons, including some Korean and Japanese products that are very reputable), change your search option to"by ingredient" and it will bring a short list up on the right of the screen with a link to more products. I got ten pages with thioctic acid.

Re: Crows Feet

You should probably look into silicone pads that adhere to the under-eye area. They promote collagen production to plump up that area over time (several months). Also when worn overnight will attempt to flatten out lines in the skin. I havent used them on my eyes but have seen excellent performance elsewhere. The reviews are generally favorable for the eye area. More of a pain to use over creams and serum but Id imagine you would get much better results.

Re: Crows Feet

Thank you.... I'll have to try those for sure!!
