Combination skin; which ones better? FARMACY

Hey everyone and greetings from Canada!

I’m sending this question in regards to finding out what users of these products thinks is best; Farmacy oil-free gel moisturizer or the Farmacy Honey Halo hydrating cream?

I ask because I’ve been a frequent user of the gel moisturizer by Farmacy and have not had any issues with it EVER! I have combination skin which ranges from an oily forehead to dry sinus’ or vice-versa depending on the weather.

you may be asking, “if you’re not having a problem with the gel moisturizer, why are you thinking of switching?” Well that’s because the moisturizer has been out of stock for two weeks now and I use mine twice daily, I have one more jar left that I just opened and am a frequent stocker when products of mine run low.

stores nearby have also sold out because of the craze for the gel moisturizer.. so now I’m wondering if I should try and switch over to Honey Halo? I heard it’s VERY hydrating but because of the shea butter in it I’m worried I’ll break out as oils clog my pores and cause acne.

any advice? Should I wait for the gel to restock and stick with it? Or should I try the mini size of the halo and swap to that since stock of it doesn’t run out as fast as the gel?

thanks so much!

Re: Combination skin; which ones better? FARMACY

Hey @ItzJaqui!

I'm quite possibly the biggest fan (and huge advocate) for Farmacy's Honey Halo. I know products work differently for everyone, so I'll share a bit about my experience and hope that helps!

Honey Halo is insanely moisturizing, but it's also super light weight which makes it perfect for my dry/combination skin. I live at high altitude and even with the dryness, I only have to apply this once in the morning and once at night. I like that it has a very calming cooling sensation when you apply it and it only takes a few minutes to soak in. Because of this, it's my go-to moisturizer for under my foundation/skin tint. It has a very slight natural glow after application, so I sometimes wear it on my "no makeup" days too!

One thing I really like about the Honey Halo is that it's very calming for my sensitive, eczema-prone skin. I'm typically left with red blotchy skin after washing my face and this moisturizer completely resolves that in about 15 minutes. This moisturizer is also very complementary to Farmacy HONEYMOON GLOW AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Hydrating Honey + Gentle Flower Acids 1 oz/ 30 mL  if you use that product.

Lastly, I also use mine twice a day and the little honey pot does last quite some time! It comes with a metal applicator, which I've found to be quite helpful in getting every last drop of the product out of the pot.

I hope that helps you decide if it will work for you!
