Cleanser

Hey guys I need help finding a good acne cleanser my skin is very sensitive I always used Kate Somerville pink and the green cleansers and it was perfect but I don’t know what happened to my skin I have ALOT of acne now and my skin got very sensitive and red also my pores got very large the product doesn’t help anymore makes my skin very dry I use to have a very oily skin but now it’s dry I really need a good cleanser

Re: Cleanser

How often are you using each of the cleansers, @Farah847. And what's the rest of your routine? You may have over-dried out your skin and that could be causing your issues right now. Do you know what ingredients you're sensitive to?

RE: Re: Cleanser

I used twice a day morning and evening and after toner, essence, Hyaluronic Acid from the ordinary retinol at night time face mist and eye cream that avocado sleeping mask with drunk elephant virgin marula oil but all these products made my skin even more bad , red tbh I don’t know what makes my skin really but right now I don’t use anything I just wash my face with a water sometimes I use face oil even tho I stop using all the products nothing changed my skin got really bad

Re: RE: Re: Cleanser

Oh gosh- yes, it definitely sounds like you over-exfoliated and compromised your moisture barrier, @Farah847. Between both of those cleansers, cleansing twice and day, and using retinol, that's a lot! Until you can repair you're barrier, I'd stay away from all of those items and focus just on hydration. A simple cream cleanser like First Aid Beauty's facial cleaner or Philosophy Purity, and just for nighttime use. Just splash with water in the mornings. And definitely use moisturizer- I didn't see that in your list, other than the marula oil. After a couple of weeks, you should start to see some improvement in your skin's hydration and eventually you can start using actives again. But I highly recommend not using retinol more than 2x a week, and the same with BHAs and AHAs (which both of those cleansers contain).

RE: Cleanser

I have found the Tatcha oil cleanser works really well with my acne. Doesn’t irritate at all and really gets my face clean. Then I use the Tatcha exfoliating powder! Really made the difference for me!

RE: Cleanser

Thank you so much I appreciated

Re: Cleanser

@Farah847 I think FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser

is great - esp for sensitive skin.  What does the rest of your routine look like?

Cleanser

there is a kit by Sunday Riley with Saturn mask, UFO oil and Martian toner. It is great for acne and clears up most of my clients. I would get the Sephora collection clean beauty cleanser which wont strip your skin and will maintain a balance. You should start to see a difference almost right away. good luck

RE: Cleanser
