Best face primer and why???

Looking to try out a new primer! what is everyone using? anybody have any particular positive or negative experiences with face primers?

TooFaced hangover recovery is my go to! It makes my skin feel rejuvenated and helps my make up last longer. Plus it smells amazing because it's made with coconut water.

Hi, I would recommend the Yves Saint Laurent "Touche Eclat Blur primer"   I'm in love with this primer when I apply it  on on  face  its so smooth a little goes along way and I noticed when I wear my foundation over it lasts me the whole night and it actually blurs out imperfections so I highly recommend this primer!

Make up forever step 1 mattifying primer is by far the best primer for people with oily skin. It provides a smooth base along with keeping the face very matte throughout the day!

One specific primer that has worked very well with my skin is the Benefit Pore-fesional primer. I have bigger pores in my T-zone and O-zone and since I started using this primer I have noticed a huge difference in how my foundation sets over those areas! So definitely give it a try if you haven't!

I like to use the smashbox Primer water for some extra hydration and then after that dries use benefits porefessional to fill in pores.

Love the Hourglass mineral veil. Pricey, but glides on beautifully and holds up the foundation for many hours (not a full day because that's just unrealistic for any product).

I just picked up one of the new ones from Bare Minerals, combo control I think it's called. Very smooth and is neither drying or hydrating. I add a couple dabs of porefessional on my nose and cheeks. So far it's worked with all of the foundation/face products I use. My all time favorite is Laura Mercier oil free primer. Smooths everything out without a bunch of added ingredients for actual blurring, mattifying or pore filling, doesn't help with any of that but doesn't accentuate pores or oil either.

beware of the becca ever matte primer! i have super oily skin and it managed to make my skin look awfully dry. my go to primer combo right now is the smashbox pore minimizing primer and the makeup forever hydrating primer for normal skin on the areas that just need a little moisture i.e dry patches and healing blemishes. hope this helps!

I don't have any brands I really like, but my biggest tip is to make sure it matches your foundation! By that I mean if your foundation is water based get a water based primer, same goes for silicon based and etc.

Smash box photo finish primer is the best primer I've found, it smooths out fine lines & makes your foundation look flawless. Lancôme's primer is very good also but it's more pricey.

@EmmaJKrau I'm using the Velvet Skin Primer from The Face Shop. It's feels and looks similar to the Smashbox primer, but it's less expensive 🙂
