Bad Reviews

I recently posted a negative review on both the Sephora website and Tatcha website about finding a hair in my Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer 7g and the both posts have been removed. I am not trying to defame or talk bad about the company (they actually have great customer service and replaced the product for free), I am just trying to make the problem aware for all users. And the Tatcha brand is not cheap, why wouldn't I report this issue and help others make a decision if this brand is really worth buying for. My questions is, can companies remove bad reviews even if they are true ? I had seen awhile back that Kylie was under fire for removing negative reviews on her website so how is this any different ? TATCHA - Skincare for Makeup Lovers: Dewy Glow Set

Re: Bad Reviews

I tried multiple times to post a one-star review of Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream, both here and on Tatcha's site, but it was never posted.  I've actually tried to post several one-star reviews on Sephora this year and the majority of them were never posted.

RE: Bad Reviews

I’ve had the same issue with other brands. Then I read review after review where people say a product “broke them out” and they are clearly talking about a product reaction, which is not acne. I actually go to negative reviews first so I find it unfair that negative reviews are edited.

Re: Bad Reviews

Thank you! Its not fair. EVERYTHING. in makeup and skincare is over priced like 75% and we not only pay ,but can't get real true opinions is beyond wrong. They are Sooooo greedy. I'm glad you took the time to post about it. I wish we all could strike against these stores and companies. They only keep doing it because we don't demand better.

Re: Bad Reviews

also: check out the threads about sunday riley faking reviews.  so yes, big companies do it, and nothing happens to them.  that's how the beauty industry works, apparently.  it's all about money, just like everything else.

RE: Bad Reviews

I have no idea . But I’ve been a rouge for years now and will post reviews abt almost all products I buy and try yet there are a lot of reviews that have disappeared and product purchases that no longer are in my purchase history . I do think within the past year or so they have been better since so much press has reported on review removals and fake reviews but I’m skeptical about all the rave reviews on here out weighing the minimal bad reviews ; which is why I try to give a review on all my purchases but like you said not all appear on the site or app.

Re: RE: Bad Reviews

yes, I've left reviews and some disappear, or are cut off.  and it's also funny that I can't like or unlike any reviews either.  so gee, I wonder why all these brands would want to leave a bunch of fake glowing reviews (eyeroll).  It's also ridiculous that they give *select* people free stuff on here, and when I noticed that one person only had like 2 posts, they said it's also based off reviews...but if you can't leave negative reviews, then what they really mean is, they give free stuff to anyone who will overwhelmingly praise the same ol' expensive "popular" products that keep getting mentioned all the time.  one more reason why I'll continue to mention ulta.  at least they have negative reviews and they don't get cut off or censored.

Re: RE: Bad Reviews

I’ve attempted a couple of times to write reviews for several Tatcha products (none of them worked out for me). I figured out that I had mentioned better and less expensive alternatives that were brands Sephora doesn't sell (Hada Labo, Revlon, etc.) which is prohibited by their guidelines. I'll try again because DE Baby Facial destroyed my skin barrier and the one star review is warranted.
