Alternating serums

Hi all! Was curious about if/how you alternate different serums. I am currently using Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil (which I love) under my moisturizer, but I’d like to try an AHA serum like the new one from Farmacy, or possibly a Vitamin C serum (maybe also from Sunday Riley). I am 36 and primarily looking to diminish the appearance of lines (especially forehead/between the brows) but also looking for product that might make my skin a little brighter and just more “awake”... What serum routines have worked for you? ❤️

Re: Alternating serums

I use Vitamin C in the morning, then alternate either a retinol/retinoid or an AHA at night and then pick one or two nights to not use any strong actives and instead focus on moisture.

Re: Alternating serums

I got into skincare about 18 months back and with the use of the following serums, my darker spots seem to be lighter in color and I see slight reductions in my fine lines and wrinkles.  I don’t alternate but rotate randomly amongst several evening serums:

SR Luna oil, SR Good Genes, and DE Framboos.

RE: Alternating serums

Only time I alternate serums is at night. I use all the ones you named. I specifically use the Drunk Elephant C Serum during the day along with the B Hydration. At night I switch with either the Luna Oil, Drunk Elephant new Retinol Cream Or Biossance.

RE: Re: Alternating serums

Thanks for the cautionary advice! Don’t worry, I’m very careful when starting new products and don’t want to bombard my skin with too much. That’s why I asked about alternating—I was more curious how people staggered potent serums, like using a retinol MWF and a hydrating serum TR; or maybe one kind in the morning and one at night, or something like that. I am not a huge fan of layering because it’s harder for me to tell which product might be causing a problem if there’s a problem, or what might be interfering with what, or which product is actually most effective. I like people’s product suggestions in this thread—but if I try any I would probably do so slowly, not combined with anything else at first, just to be safe. (Plus I like relative simplicity: cleanser, serum, moisturizer) 🙂

Re: Alternating serums

DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni™ Retinol Creamand DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma™ Day Serum@mmck07. I’m 38 and have the best skin of my life right now. I also use either Luna or Framboos at night but have been using a Passioni and C-Firma during the day since it was released. That combo will tackle fine lines and give you the brightness you want. I can’t even begin to express my love for these products! If you love Sunday Riley (I definitely do), I know she’s launching A+ (which is her Retinol) and CEO could also be a great addition. So, I wouldn’t alternate, just change it up a bit. ❤️

I’m trying to decide between these two! Which worked better for hyperpigmentation you think?

RE: Alternating serums

RE: Alternating serums

Sorry for the duplicate reply it wouldn’t let me edit. I have alternated monthly between Lancôme’s vissionaire /genefique lines and Sunday Riley Luna /good genes
