Moms Who Makeup

Hey moms! Do you make time to do your makeup everyday or just for special occasions? What about skin care routines?

RE: Daily Makeup?

Only on special occasions and when I have the time

RE: Daily Makeup?

The time is almost always the struggle!

RE: Daily Makeup?

Daily! I️ don’t feel like myself without it. Mostly because it’s important that I️ take care of myself and putting my face on is a big part of that. Today I️ overslept and just did mascara, brow pencil, and clear lipgloss. You’re worth the time and effort!!

Re: Daily Makeup?

i still wear make up probably 85-90% of the time now. ive gotten my application time down pretty quick now too.

Re: Daily Makeup?

I tend to do it everyday.  I'm lucky that my kids are 14 and 8 so I don't have little ones running around, but I purposely get up a little earlier to do my face.  It makes me feel like I did a little something for me and my husband loves that I do it for myself.  If I didn't wear makeup, people would probably worry lol.  On the weekends I am a little more relaxed and go natural unless going out to run errands and then I'll do a simple 10 min look.

It really depends on how important it is to you. I wear makeup most days, but with a very fussy 5 month old, some days it just doesn't happen. I don't feel bad about it either 😁

I try and do it even a quick look every day. It makes me feel better even if it's not full on glamour. I keep a small bag in my purse and in my diaper bag so I can do it while I'm parked in the driveway before I leave if I can't get my son to calm long enough. I used to do it at stoplights while I was running late before I had the baby...but now I really wouldn't want to risk it. That being said I've totally stayed in the car to play with new makeup when he's fallen asleep while we've been driving. Small moments of peace and quiet!

Re: Daily Makeup?

I have a 10 min makeup routine, and a more extensive makeup routine (which is still less than 20 mins).  I would find the time to do my quick routine almost every day while I was on maternity leave - it just made me feel better.  I struggled to find any time to take care of myself with my first kid.  2nd time around,  I committed to doing more small things for myself, like nice skincare, face masks, etc.  It made a big difference in warding off PPD and making me feel more myself after the birth.

I have 5 children, 4 who live at home. 4 year old twins, 6 year old and 12 year old. up until about 6 months ago I was lucky if I got out of my pajamas let alone bothered with make-up. After being a SAHM for the last 11 years I kind of just got into the habit of not worrying about looking nice, I stay home 24/7 with the kids. So what's the point right?? WRONG!!! I didn't realize it but I guess you could say I sort of fell into a funk and it was makeup and caring about my looks that's pulled me out of that funk. So after all these years I went from a couple chapstick that I kept in my night stand to two huge makeup cases filled with stuff. I made it my goal to do my makeup everyday even if I turn around a wipe it off a hour later. I can't tell you enough what a difference it has made in my life. ill be curious to read what other mothers might have to say.

I have 3 teenagers at home and have noticed that when I do get up and put on some simple routine makeup that I feel human, not just mom this and mom that. But for times that we go out for the day or with my husband then I makeup very differently.

RE: Daily Makeup?

Everyday i make some time to feel pretty. Beside, my pack and play is just behind my dresser and mirror so my son just peek and loveeeee to see himself and me on the mirror !

RE: Daily Makeup?

I wish I could make the time to do it everyday but as of right now I only wear my full face of make when going out.

RE: Daily Makeup?

It kind of makes it special when you don’t do it as often, so that’s nice! If I’m pretty busy I’ll make sure to do my skin care routine and I’ll go bare faced or use a B.B. cream

RE: Daily Makeup?

Every day. I have a 1 and a 3 year old boys but I menage to do it. My one year old knows make up so well by now:)

Everyday. for me, doing my makeup is just as natural as showering. It's part of who I am.

This is a HUGE "No No." And I know I shouldn't but i purposefully use extended wear make up if I know I have a LOT going on. Exp: Meeting with a client Monday evening.. Function at my 8 yo's school Tues, @ 7:30a and I have to not only dress myself but my 2 yo Diva as well.. Long story short; Dry shampoo, quick touch up of "yesterday's" make up and DONE! 😬 So no, I dont "do" my make up every day. I do NOT have time fot that. 🚨🚙💨

RE: Daily Makeup?

I try to make time to do my makeup anytime I go out. Usually NARS tinted moisturizer, concealer, eyeshadow, and mascara for errands and daily things. I’ll do a full face for special occasions and date night

RE: Re: Daily Makeup?

a little bit of under eye concealer and full brows always do the trick. i usually get my lashes done, and that alone makes a HUGE difference and saves sooooo much time. not to mention, those frequent surprise visits from friends and family lol always looking ready, rested and glammed when anyones at the door 😁

RE: Daily Makeup?

I usually wear light foundation or spot concealer and brows every day to work. Then on my first break I try to add some mascara and maybe some nudestix blush or shadow. It’s easy enough for me and makes me feel good. I went without makeup at all a lot more when my son was younger though (he just turned 7).
