Kids at Sephora

i just thought i would come on here to see if anyone else is having issues with young teens/children damaging products at their sephora stores? i know that Sephora has basically become the new Claire’s for kids, and buying Drunk Elephant products that are full of actives and retinoids that are harmful to kid’s skin is the latest gen alpha trend, but the testers are getting destroyed. Everything from kids mixing skincare and makeup testers together to make “smoothies” to opening new makeup packages and using them only to leave them on the shelf. and these are expensive products being contaminated and wrecked. I’ve been seeing a lot of people posting online who are having similar experiences. Either Sephora needs to enforce an age restriction, or they need to be supervised and have to pay for the products they destroy. Parents please please please supervise your kids. Even if you’re sending them off thinking they wouldn’t do that, you don’t actually know unless you see it. This way you can also help them make better decisions about which products are safe for their skin and which ones aren’t. I am concerned for they younger generation, they need guidance, but this is also disrespectful to everyone else shopping at sephora. let me know if any of you have been seeing the same thing! thank you!!!

*these aren’t my photos, i found them in articles and videos concerning the issue to show what is actually going on*

Re: Kids at Sephora

i understand that young girls just want to be mature and follow after older more mature girls but this is out of hand! that have to respect the people and boundaries of stores everywhere. especially the disrespect some of the girls give there parents to buy all of their things. I understand this comment completely

Re: Kids at Sephora

It’s a literal nightmare. So much waste and theft too! I’m for age limits/parental supervision. Paying for damaged goods etc. Anything to make it so actual adults can shop in peace and test out products without all the grubby hand germs. It’s an absolute disgrace.

Re: Kids at Sephora

this stuff is seriously getting out of control. Every time I go to a Sephora, I know there’s no possible way I’m getting to the drunk elephant. And if I do, it’s going to be so disgusting, destroyed and probably full of germs that I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. Never mind the fact that this stuff is made for people are 30+ and these kids are DESTROYING their skin with it. All kids from the age of 5-12 need is a basic moisturizer and cleanser from Target. It makes me sad because now this stuff has become a status symbol. Please, if you’re under the age of 13-14, there’s no need for you to use retinol. Also I’m sick of the lipsticks always being destroyed, if you’re going to use a tester, please clean it. Parents, please educate your children on why they don’t need this stuff.

Re: Kids at Sephora

@queenc0bra I agree with you.  The behavior of done (not all children) in Sephora is sad.  They don't need thrse products.  A cleanser and sunscreen is all they need.

Re: Kids at Sephora

I very much agree that this is getting out of hand! I have 5 kids, Journee (16) Isa (12) Leo (9) Taya (7) and Colt (3) and triplets on the way! I love taking my girls to Sephora and so do they but, I can't handel the testers! Last time we went someone took the bronzi drops and drizzeled them all over the floor! the Protini cream was coverd with rosi drops and there were a bunch of ten year olds having a cat fight on the floor over their bronzi drops and begging the workers for retinol (retinol is terrible for children). Three workers had to pull these sceaming girls apart! We did not get to shop at all due to these kids!

Re: Kids at Sephora

I just want to make sure, was the 3 children (girls) who were fighting. Was the event before everything at Sephora went viral, the event was epidemic, or during the epidemic and everything such as first "child" destroying Sephora's products.

Kids may be kids, but it important what we can have control over, such as disciplining the children what they should do in a place where everything is expensive, and telling them that "in this store, nothing here is a toy".

Re: Kids at Sephora

I totally agree with you. I live in New Hampshire and when I went to Sephora I saw some kids around 8-10 year olds making nasty things with the drunk elephant things and I’m just standing across from them holding my two-year-old, and my very pregnant belly. I just can’t believe that the kids are taking over Sephoras. I’m sick of it.

Re: Kids at Sephora

@nessannmarie @Edithgworlll17 I agree this is rude and they don't realize that the employees have to replace most of it because they are messing it up and it is so disrespectful that people are just leaving.

Re: Kids at Sephora

@Graciegworllll3 I totally agree with you.  The parents have to stop being their kids best friend and be their parents.  This behavior is not only ride but costly.

I saw a post where someone asked why Sephora doesn't carry Bubble.  Just what Sephora needs more products that kids can play with and make a mess.  Sephora needs to implement a policy on who can come into the store without an  adult.  And the adult needs to supervise their kids

Re: Kids at Sephora

I see it in almost every store I go to. I literally watch

these kids doing it with their parents around and they don’t care. It’s ridiculous. 🙄
