What does anyone else think of Ipsy??? Been thinking about subscribing to that also..

Ipsy is good if you want to try new brands, but they don’t do as many high end products. One thing they have that Play is lacking, is a good review system. You can review every product you get (and get points to spend on more products). I’ve found with Ipsy that you have to review in extremes - Love or hate the product and go into your profile and do the same with the types of products you’re interested in. For example, I am good on eyeliner so I’d say I hate it for awhile, but that I love blush. I switch my preferences like that regularly and I get great bags each month. I still like Play better, but I’ve gotten a lot more full size and deluxe sized products and more high end/popular brands as well recently.

my friend and I both dropped our Ipsy subscriptions. I don't really get much from them that I like and she has a thing about not using cosmetics made in China, which makes up the vast majority of what comes in the Ipsy bags. I think Sephora has a better variety of things in the box and Sephora also includes the insert that tells you a little more about the products.

Play box is way better than Ipsy. I never got what I wanted in my Ipsy boxes. It was a waste so I stopped subscribing. I love, love, love the Play box and it has more variety.

I get ipsy, birchbox, and Sephora play box. With ipsy the brands I've gotten are just the products you would get at Ulta store section with the drug store brands. I haven't gotten any more high end samples. Birchbox does have some great products. And you always get a perfume sample and it doesn't count as one of your samples so it's like getting 6 products a month. I love Sephora and the products I get with it. The only problem I have with all 3 subscriptions is that I always get a different mascara from each one every month. Ipsy does offer deals and you can get various sample sets for $10-15 and then they have product deals that gives coupon codes to get anywhere from 10% - 50% off any purchase on their websites. Some of the brands are more well known and some are little gems just waiting to be discovered.

I had a subscription with ipsy for over a year and it was alright.. I noticed that a lot of products were reused month after month, so that was annoying because the whole point is to try a variety of products.

my best friend did the ispy box and she was disappointed. she likes the sephora one. I saw the stuff she got in her box and it was stuff I would never use

I tried Ipsy for 4 months. I was not impressed. Most of their products were not available where I live (California). In 4 months I received 3 brown eyeshadows, 2 of which were almost the same color. And they seemgeared towards young women in their teens and 20s. Also, all four of the makeup bags smelled really bad.

So true! You will amass an entire collection of bronze eyeshadows.
