Play box February 2018

Got my box today, and as usual I got two red lipsticksl!! I would like to have at least one box where I get some neutral pinkish Brown lipsticks but again two red ones that I cannot use, as they do not look well  with my skin color. I did get a perfume called vanilla La-land, by Altier cologne.  VERY strong for my liking.  I would have liked a beach scent by them.  The things I  liked were: firmx peeling gel by Peter Thomas Roth,  moisturizing eye balm from belief it works so wonderfully, laura Mercier eyeshadow stick, but everything else not so great I'm hoping the next box includes some neutral colors and maybe a nicer cologne I don't particularly care for the very strong ones and this particular cologne is very strong. Well that's my review thank you Sephora.

Another red shade of lipstick? Same perfume that was sent out a few months ago? 2 face lotions? For having a huge inventory of brands, I feel like every month is disappointing. I don’t know how many hot pink or red lipsticks I have thrown away or tried to give to a friend. Or how many lotions I have stock piled. I feel like a lot of time and money went into making the flyer and plastic bag, just send quality and diverse products!

I agree. This is my least favorite box so far, even ignoring the fact that three things I received are *not* what I was told I would receive. I was really looking forward to the Milk blur stick and Caudalie, but of course I didn't receive them. Why are lip colors always taupe, pink so pale it's translucent, or a deep fall red? Don't get me wrong, I love red, but I like pink-y reds or brighter reds. Despite filling out the Sephora profile, I get lip colors that are not suited to my skin tone. The taupes or burgundys are suited for someone with *much* darker skin than I have. I've been trying a few different subscription boxes and unless next month's box really wows me, Sephora is getting cut.

Most of the lipsticks I get aren’t suited for my skin tone. Neither is the foundation. Always too light.

Well, I opened the Sephora lipstick in my box and the whole lipstick shot out of the tube.. & the perfume sample in my box, was empty. Just the cardboard little card holder, no perfume. Not my best box, that's for sure. But I did love the fresh lip balm and the laura mercer eyeshadow stick.

@LaurieBT I appreciated the prompt and very unexpected response! This is why I have kept my Sephora play box and have zero complaints about it. $10 a month allows me to try new products I would have not gotten on my own and possibly find a new favorite, or put a big smile on someone else's face when I gift items from my boxes to them. CS has always been prompt about addressing any issues I have had with any order or item and "I am eternally grateful", just like the little green men from Toy Story!

Even I got 2 Sephora lipsticks!!! Others got fresh lip balm and nars !!!

This the absolute worst box I’ve ever received. I got the box with two Sephora lipsticks that look terrible with my light coloring, Lancôme mascara, belif eye, perfume sample, and a Hello Fab mask. Of these, I’m only interested in the eye bomb. I know it doesn’t matter that I’m Rouge, but I think that colors my expectations. I searched to see the other boxes online and steam came out of my ears. 😩 Other boxes contained NARS, Smashbox eye palette, lots of high end name brand products. This box is by far the biggest dud of them all. I would never have purchased any of this or am even remotely interested in anything but the eye bomb. Usually, I’m pretty happy, or thrilled with most items and there’s just one dud in a box. This was NOT worth the $10.

Ok, so did the tiny size of these sephora lip products completely turn you off like it did me? I mean They look like Barbie size Especially the lip stain and that eye cream if you look how its con caved on the bottom of the jar you can see how little of the product is actually in it. I've generally been pretty happy with my play boxes but this one no way!

If it makes you feel any better, the NARS lip crayon is a hot pink that does not belong on a human face. The first few boxes I got were amazing and I purchased products from each, but lately they've been random junk I'll never use. I especially get steamed when I get Clinique products, since I'm not a high school girl who just graduated from Wet 'n' Wild!

Right? Why do we even fill out an IQ with skin color, hair color, etc. if they're going to keep sending us colors that don't work? 99% of my lipsticks sent have been bright or dark red and I am way too pale for that! I want pretty nudes or browns!

This is, in my opinion, the most terrible box I have received in two years. One dark red lipstick and a hot pink one - yikes, not at my age! Laura Mercier Stick is a duplicate, Chloe smells terrible on me and the other two products just aren't what I would use.  I seriously doubt this box was "based on my profile".  I keep on subscribing because most of the time I get a few products that make it worth it and I like getting the "premier" box when they have them. This box was very disappointing - total fail Sephora.

Sounds like we got the same box! I will use those Barbie-pink lipsticks never, and I don't have dark circles that merit the belif product. I do like the Chloe fragrance, and my mom will like the makeup remover and the Laura Mercier eye crayon, so it's not a total loss, but I'm sick of getting pink lip products that can be seen from outer space.

I agree with you.  The colors of lipsticks...not at my age either.  They are not looking at our profiles at all.  I feel they pass out what they are getting from manufacturers. I will give them one more month.
