PLAY! by SEPHORA has some exciting news to share with you. Starting in May 2016, we’re expanding PLAY! to the lower 48 states and giving our PLAY! boxes a makeover!
For those of you already on the waitlist as of April 8th, 2016, we will be sending out invitations in waves until all available spots are filled. Invitations will be sent based on when you joined the waitlist. Spots are still limited, so please act quickly if you receive an invitation. As a reminder, when you receive your invitation to join, be sure to enter the same email address used to join the waitlist. If you don’t receive an invitation this time around, or you joined the waitlist after April 8th – don’t worry! As more spots open up each month, we’ll continue to send out invitations on a rolling, first come, first served basis.
If you would like to join the waitlist, please enter your email by visiting www.sephora.com/play. You will be included in future months’ invitations.
A: The first wave of invitations for signup will be sent during mid-April 2016. They will continue to be sent out in monthly increments as the program grows.
A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is currently only available in the U.S. and can ship to any address in the contiguous 48 states.
A: Box quantities are limited each month. If you are invited to subscribe to PLAY! by SEPHORA, please redeem your invitation and claim your spot as soon as possible so that you don’t miss out on that month’s box.
A: PLAY! by SEPHORA is not currently available in Canada; however, we will keep you posted on any plans for expansion.
Q: I am a US resident and do not live in one of the contiguous 48 states. When will PLAY! be available to me?
A: We are currently exploring ways to expand our shipping capabilities to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Military Bases. We'll be notifying clients as soon as we have an update and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Why doesn't Sephora send correct amount of invites for spots that are available and wait for people to respond to the invites they got? It's that simple. This way all of us who got invites can join and not be rejected once again and told there are no more invites when we log in to subscribe. Unbelievable, worst way to conduct subscribing to a beauty box. So sad.
Same here in WA state....very frustrating! I have been waiting months then I get the email 5 hours ago and it kicks me back to the waiting list!?!?!?!?! Come on Sephora!
Same here...and worse, after getting "off the list" we go right back on but at the end of the list AGAIN! Frustrating!
Same happening here in Houston:
It's your turn to play!
Join the wait list. We’ll let you know when a spot is ready for you!
Claim your spot. Once you’ve received an invitation from us to join.
You would think after it happened last time they would get it right this time around, but no, that was obviously too much to ask for.
Same here in Houston get email and nothing happens!

This is ridiculous why do I get emails telling me I am off the waitlist and my spot is open and as soon as I log on to Sephora they tell me there are no open spots and I am back on the waitlist again I'm really starting to be heartbroken over this I've been on this waitlist forever and I just got so happy when I got the email and yet again they put me right back on the waitlist
Well, back on the wait list of the THIRD time. I've been waiting for 6 months now and live in Chicago so it's not like I'm in the middle of nowhere. Being a vib rouge, I clearly spend a lot of money with this company. Horrible customer service, idk why I even shop here anymore
OMG! People! This is almost hilarious. Everyone can gripe, buck, and snort, but the fact of the matter is that Sephora is unaffected by any of this, nor do they care. If the company felt bad about doing this to customers/potential customers, it wouldn't be happening AGAIN. This is NOT an error on their part. They know EXACTLY what they are doing. For goodness sake, Google beauty subscription boxes and take your money elsewhere. Sephora isn't jesus!
Amen! They are jerking people around, keeping you on the hook. Have taken my money elsewhere and don't intend to take it back to th is lousy company!
This has happened to me twice as well. You shouldn't send out more emails than spots are available. That's like me inviting 400 people to a wedding that's only being catered for 15 and hoping no more than that show up. I used to respect you Sephora, but that's just bad business practices. You've lost me as a customer, and I'll be buying my products somewhere else from now on.
second invite and back on the waitlist- not cool
.............I was off the wait list for the second time and now I am on the wait list again? Disappointing...
Another one who received a second invite saying I'm off the waitlist & responded within the hour and I'm back on the waitlist. Don't send me an email if there aren't going to be spots available. I get that it's first come, first serve but when people are responding within minutes of getting the email and still can't get in, that is such poor customer service.
With so many other players in the game, Sephora needs to step it up. People are going to go with other options. And not just go with another box until a spot opens up with Sephora. Eventually, they are going to get fed up and just stay with other subscription options. The ones out there are continuing to improve!
I have had this happen to me twice. This is absolutely horrible customer service. As a VIG rouge who obviously spend a lot of money at Sephora, this is beyond disappointing. I even called the VIB only phone line and they were like "the email says it's first come fist serve". This is a bordering on a scam definitely shows that Sephora does not value its customers. There is pretty much nothing at Sephora that cannot be bought at other stores, and I will not longer be shopping at Sephora at all. I guess they don't care about losing a VIB member because they don't actually care about customer service.
Sephora has been the premier beauty provider, but they are not the only player anymore. None of the other beauty subscription services have had this problem, and I know Birchbox has amazing customer service. When they send me something that was broken, the immediately sent me a new one without making me send the broken one back. It is easy to manage my subscription, and a lot of the brands I found there are just now being carried by Sephora.
Good luck Sephora. With your lousy customer service and a subscription that is impossible to actually subscribe to even when you are told you have a spot, you will lose a lot of great customers who will spend a lot of money on beauty products each year.
Same here incredibly disappointing!!!!!!!!! I got the email and the spot was full.
I was finally able to get a spot. I'm so excited to get my first box.
The same thing happen to me. I received an invite and was so happy until I got to the page to subscribe. I put my email address and they said no spots available. This is just very unfair and dishonest. What is going on?
Don't like! Spot filled up already. Should open up more spots for people who love to join. 😞
I've received two invites now, but am still unable to subscribe. Too bad for Sephora. I spend a lot of money in their store. lol
Same as everyone else. This is the second month I've gotten an email saying I'm able to join but when I try all spots are full already. That was less than an hour after I'd received the email. This is a joke. Get it together Sephora. I've NEVER had this experience with another subscription box.
