RE: November play box

I feel exactly the same...I just unsubscribed.

Re: November play box

But they gave us a crossword puzzle and games!

RE: Re: November play box

Bahahahaha!!

Re: November play box

I'll also jump in here (wildly hoping that the more numerous our voices...and wallets...the better we will be heard).

How many Play subscribers did you poll to determine better box contents over passes?  What level of Insider were most of these pollees (my thinking is that lower level insiders do not visit stores or make purchases routinely to remember to use the pass)?  I was not given the chance to weigh in on this.  I used 80-90% of my passes every year.  I loved being able to treat myself to an item in store every month and redeem the card.  I was hoping to get closer to the reward of an experience.  But reading another poster in this thread...you plan to do away with the current reward system potentially?  I really hope Sephora does not screw over any long time point earners like Julep Mavens were screwed over.  And if you aren't familiar with that debacle from January/February 2019...Google it.  It's an eye opener on how companies can just dismiss loyal customers without so much as care in the world.

And better box contents?  Is this beginning with a future box?  Because it sure wasn't with my November box.  I received Black Opium (that has been out for quite some time and I have gotten the sample more than once.  For reference I currently only subscribe to Macy's in addition to Play).  I received Clinique Black Honey...for the 2nd or 3rd time from Play (luckily it's a small sample that can be used decently fast and I do enjoy the shade).  Two other items (Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara and Glamglow Glowstarter) I have received before...the mascara about 10 times over between subscriptions and GWPs & I know I just recently got another Glowstarter but I don't remember from which sub.  The only new and exciting product was the Nars lipstick in Tolede.  And sorry Sephora, but one new better sample size product does not equal the 50 points boost to my Insider points.

So I'm finishing the year out with Play (one more box) and then I'm canceling.  I hear Allure is pretty amazing.  It was a good run for the last 3-4 years (I honestly forget how long I've subbed to Play), but I can't justify mediocre boxes and no points benefit.  And I'll still shop Sephora, but much less so; especially if the reward system is going to change/go away.  Ulta has a MUCH better rewards system.

RE: Re: November play box

YES!!!!!! to all of this

Re: November play box

Yes!  It wouldn't be so bad to take away the play pass if we got better products, six decent-sized samples, a chance to choose a sample or include a full size of something.  I think the November box was the worst I've gotten yet.  Yet another mascara, hair products I won't use and acne healing dots for which I can easily find a drug-store comparable salicylic acid product.  The only decent product was the NARS lipstick.  I don't recall seeing anything form Sephora that they were removing the play pass.  Their monthly youtube video usually promotes the pass card, but they glossed over the absence of it this month.  It is one thing to remove the pass, but to not even say anything to current subscribers?!?  Even IPSY and Birchbox send out emails on price and content changes.  They stay in touch with their customers.  I'm dropping Play! and keeping IPSY.

Re: November play box

AGREED!!

I too was screwed by Julep and completely agree with this...

I too was screwed by Julep and completely agree with this Sephora box (especially the points), but disagree with Ulta's rewards program. I had $175 worth of points with Ulta and had been caring for my mom 24/7, so needless to say I hadn't been thinking about when those points were going to expire. Instead of getting an email reminder about their expiration date, they just took them from me. I lost all of those points and didn't even realize it until my mom passed away 3 months later. Screw Ulta.

RE: Re: November play box

I was one of those Julep mavens and it made me so mad that I doubt I will ever buy any of their products again

RE: Re: November play box

This box was terrible. I should have known better then to resubscribe. I had already canceled once because I kept getting repeats. This is no better. My perfume was broken and there’s nothing in this box I want. Plus yes, no pints anymore. I think Sephora wants everyone to cancel. Any other box out there is better then this.

RE: Re: November play box

I didn’t get one either-do they want us all to cancel our subscriptions?

Re: RE: Re: November play box

This is the last straw for me!

RE: Re: November play box

I will also be unsubscribing. Thanks for putting into words exactly how I feel!!

RE: November play box

I didn’t either...not in Oct or Nov box!!!

RE: November play box

Really sucks no thanks Sephora! Turn to cancel the subscription!! Oh I’ll still shop at Sephora but there’s nothing in it for me except itsy-bitsy samples!

RE: November play box

Me either. Did you get an answer?

Re: November play box

me neither!

November play box

I wondered where it was too, not good news!

Re: November play box

Hi @Maggii13,

We are no longer offering the PLAY! PASS starting in November 2019. Our subscribers have told us that getting the best samples from top brands is what’s most important, so we’re putting more focus on filling your PLAY! box with products you’ll love! I hope this clarifies!

Best,
Rebecca

RE: Re: November play box

Hi Rebecca, I was not informed nor given a survey to put input. The points were the main thing I enjoyed. If we get no play points in order to receive better products, why did I continue to get repeat products and my products didn’t go up in value? I used the play points every month. I don’t even use all the products that play provides and a lot of the time they aren’t even based on my skin tone/hair color (for foundation/eyebrow samples) despite filling out the form!!

Re: RE: Re: November play box

Hi @Anonymous,

I am so sorry to hear this. We try to send items as close to your profile as possible. However, there is no guarantee we can send an exact match each month. I recommend trying the products to see if the formula is to your liking.Additionally, I will forward this feedback to the appropriate Team. Thank you for being a loyal Sephora client!

Best,
Rebecca
