Does Benefit have some deal with Sephora/Birchbox/Ipsy to get their primer in every box?  I use Primer, but I don't like this one and I have at least 5 samples of it sitting in a box at home.  Why is this so popular?  I am interested in trying the Becca highlighter, but I think all the other samples are dupes that I've received before (except the perfume, which I will throw right in the garbage).  I wish you could review your box so that they could customize them and I wish there was a no-fragrance option as I have never used any of the samples.

I noticed that since I have purchased products from Sephora, my box tends to be geared towards those products. I bought the Becca highlighter a few months ago (which is AWESOME!!!) and I got that in my box for May. I regularly buy Bobby Brown products and I always get those samples. So that could be the key to getting the samples you prefer. Just a thought.

@sammya That is an interesting thought. I personally have never received a sample of this but I’m a bit newer to the makeup side of things. I’ve invested far more $ in skincare. But it seems more like Benefit has a deal with Ulta, with their brow bars and Benefit-trained reps working at the brow bar.

Definitely true (Ulta & Benefit)... too bad the new Gimme Brow formula is so bad, I was so excited to see it back only to be disappointed in the new formulation.  If you continue to get beauty sub boxes you will see lots of Benefit primer;).   FYI - if you prefer more skin care products, I'd recommend trying Birchbox in addition to Play!

Thanks- great recommendation. I’ve been considering trying another subscription, and Birchbox is one I’m looking at. I do like getting the sample size makeup products because sometimes the sample is all I’ll ever want or use, but occasionally I fall in love and do make a full size purchase 🙂

I used to subscribe to Birchbox and it was ok. Honestly I prefer Sephora's better, because I actually get products I will use and they tend to give me colors that are actually for my skin tone and not random colors. Also I have noticed if you buy products from Sephora your box will be more geared towards your previous purchase's.

Go to orders for you account, and look for the one that's the May Play! box. The last three digits of the item number will be your box number.

go to your orders and on the details of your may order next to the image it will have an item number... so the last 3 digits will be your box.

No Becca, No Caudalie, No Laura Mercier...  I hope the mascara container holds together.  Mine always pop the top off before I can even pull out the wand, and I end up with a hand full of mascara!  I hope the sephora mask in my box (735) is worthwhile.  I already have the tattoo liner- at least I'll have another back-up...
