You can find your box number by clicking on the order summary tab, finding the order/item number, it will be the last 3 digits of the item number.

I do wish I got that Bum Bum, it’s my favorite but not the type of thing I spend money on. They could have sent it instead of the 5th mascara I’ve gotten. Lol

I always try to request no hair products and I can't repeat how much I hate the make-up forever samples ONLY because I have a light complexion and the color they send every time is too dark even for hispanic friend to wear. 😣😣

You can’t make special requests, though. I’d much prefer a perfume sample.

I forgot to add that my profile has always been fully completed so color matching should not be a problem here.

With all of the money that I spend in Sephora, I cannot understand why they cannot seem to get the boxes right. I said I would try it through the summer but unfortunately I am going to have to cancel because it is apparent that Sephora is not considering *all of its customers. For me, they do not take into consideration the options that I selected in my PLAY!Profile. The foundation and color choices they've sent me must be a joke.

 

This morning I was able to go to a Sephora store and browse some of the items that will be in my PLAY box. I know it’s only $10 a month but I can’t figure out how to justify $120 each year to receive broken, incorrectly matched, repetitive, unusable samples. Has anyone had any luck getting anything OTHER than an auto generated, generic message to address sample issues?

 

Here are a few examples:

June 2018 box 363 has

Too Faced Melted Matte Liquefied Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Queen B

---My skin tone is Dark/Ebony and this soft mauve color looks AWFUL on me. In Sephora today, the consultant suggested many other options from Too Faced but said this color would definitely not be recommended for me

Prada Candy Sugar Pop

--I don’t wear a lot of perfumes; I have given away every perfume sample I’ve received in my Play box thus far. My e-mails begging not to be sent perfume continue to get me nowhere.

Milk Make Up Kush Mascara

--I got a Marc Jacobs mascara last month; didn’t need another mascara for June – Is there someone at Sephora tracking what we’ve gotten?

Alterna Volume Mist

The product page says this is good for straight and wavy hair. My PLAY Profile clearly has my hair type listed as tightly coiled, course and curly. Volume is not something that I need as I have it naturally. Again, a complete miss.

-Another liquid eyeliner

-Dry shampoo – Again, a no go for my hair type.

April 2018

--The Makeup Forever foundation color was so different than my skintone that I looked like a ghost. It was at least 3 shades lighter than my normal foundation. Completely unusable

March 2018

-Greek yogurt facial cleanser YAY! Too bad the seal was punctured and it was almost empty when it arrived. Still waiting on someone to rectify that.

-Liquid eyeliner that I will have déjà vu about in May

-Gel and a bonus hair product that doesn’t work for my hair type

February 2018

-Broken  NARS matte lip pencil

-Melted/disfigured Sephora brand lipstick

sephora doesnt carry iman products like walmart does... or used to. i actually buy some shades from alternative brands. i like the copper lip and also the brown powders I use as eye or eye brow. they should feature an african or international brand. rihanna is the newest brownsugar fenti. maybe we will get fenti samples eventually. i want to try the blotting paper sample. cocoa butter watermelon coconut and many carribean oils... maybe some of ya girls can start a new brand. take some drawing and chemistry classes. sephora doesnt have revlon or ardell or elf or jordania or half my favorites.

I’m getting #363 too, and I feel the same exact way. Out of all the boxes, 363 was the one that I was least enthused about. I just received the Kush mascara and Belief aqua bomb in the last month from rewards Bazaar and gwp...not wild about either. They’re ok, I just wouldn’t repurchase, so it’s frustrating to get those exact items in a box that’s supposed to be a way to sample things. I’m absolutely disgusted about the volumizing spray. My profile says my hair is coarse/frizzy/curly...with frizz as a concern. So instead of getting one of the other 5 boxes that contain the anti-frizz hair product...I get one for volume🙄. I have and love Clinique take the day off, so that’s ok. Not exciting, just eh. This is my second Play box, not sure how long I’ll stick with it, unless they start doing some kind of profile matching.

Amen! I wish I could find a subscription box that actually worked as they should. My i**y box is even worse then my play box, especially because you get so few items. Anybody wanna recommend a good make-up

I wonder if u put you’re bald would they still give u hair products lol that would really show that they don’t go by profile.

I don’t think they care tbh. I had Sephora play when it started and it was good but now I think they’re overwhelmed or something with the amount of subscribers and don’t match to our profiles anymore. All I receive are dry shampoo products (I have dry scalp/hair I don’t need that) & charcoal pore masks I also put I have dry skin I DONT NEED THAT! the perfumes are considered a bonus item so we receive them regardless but yeah, it’s no use in subscribing to this box anymore :(.

I give up- cut and paste replies to complaints about the box that you send to me- ALWAYS the worst one that doesn’t suit me at all- why am I bothering???

Lol I was just responding the same thing to someone else. When all the box teasers were out, there were some boxes I was drooling over, some I would really love, some I would be happy with...and one that I did not want. Checked my box #...of course, the one I did not want. I’m not just unenthused...totally disappointed. Instead of getting one of the other boxes filled with things I absolutely love, have been dying to try or am interested in...I’m getting a box with things that I just got as gwp and don’t care for, things that aren’t suited for me, and things I already have. It’s as if they go through my profile and purchases and then pick the box that would be least suited/least exciting for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

It states in the FAQ section that you should have your box by the 20th of each month, and shipping notifications are emailed out by the 15th of each month. I received mine today.
