Who has received a damaged item in their Play! Box before? What was Sephora’s response?

I received my box yesterday. I went to open the Sephora Collection lipstick and it fell on to my dog-fur covered kitchen floor. I called CS yesterday but the box had not been “shipped” in their system, so I was told to wait and call back once I get the tracking. Today, I received my tracking email and sure enough, my box was marked as delivered yesterday. I called back but the rep informed me that the box was out of stock and they can’t ship another sample, so she offered 150pts to my account.

Personally, I’m not a huge fan of points at Sephora as the 100pt perks (which I do realize are the same as what is included in Play!) are usually worth $2-5 (in terms of product amount). There is RARELY anything I want, I’m not a fan of the 500pt rewards, and the FEW times I have been interested in a 1000+pt reward, it sells out in minutes. I would have much rather a discount toward a future box, or some sort of “credit” for the value of the item. I know it’s silly, but it was disappointing to receive a damaged item and feel as though there wasn’t much to be done. 

I would appreciate if there was another option other than being granted points to try and spend on an item, and instead something more proactive by the Sephora team (although it is only a $10/month box).

Same thing happened to me as well! the lipstick fell out from the tube and was smooshed at the tip. So disappointing

my play box arrived yesterday, same thing happened to my lipstick- the top was smashed against the lid and the entire bullet fell out! i can’t use it at all, it gets everywhere. 😕

Mine came damaged/smooshed at the top. 3 of my coworkers who also get the PLAYBOX also got damaged lipsticks.

Didn't know about the lipstick falling right out of the tube, but we tried it and it really does just fall out. 

Normally wouldn't complain about it, but for all of us to receive damaged lipsticks when it looks like it was a manufacturing issue isn't fair for something that we are paying for.

Mine was damaged too. I managed to catch it before it hit the carpet, and  reseat it ...but the whole top was smushed.
